Storslett to Nordkapp - Norway (Cabin @ Nordkapp Camp)
77,894km to 78,314km = 420km

今朝は曇りですが雨の気配は無し!　マグナス、トーマスとパーベルと話をしたり、ドバイに住んでいるオージーライダーのショーンと奥さんのアレクサンドラと話をしたりして気が付いたら10時過ぎ!!　トーマスとパーベルのインタビューに応えて、出発です。

It was cloudy but did not look like going to rain at all! In the morning, we motorcyclists talked a lot. We met an Aussie / Russian couple on 2 Bimmers with Dubai licence plates! They are Shaun and Alexandra. When we realised it ws alrady 10am! Thomas and Paul filmed our interviews and we got ready to go!

ショーンとアレクサンドラは南下、トーマスとパーベルはフェリーを使ってノールカップより更に北に向かうとのことで、ここでお別れです。Buen viaje, mis amigos!!

Shaun and Alexandra were heading south and Thomas and Paul were catching a ferry to go to an island further north than Nordkapp. So we said a good-bye to them and left the site. Buen viaje, is amigos!!

さて、マグナスと走り出します。のっけからトナカイが。

WIth Magnus, we headed north. I encountered a reindeer within a few minutes after we took off.


マグナス曰く、「これから沢山見るよ。特にフィンランドにはあきれるほどいるから、注意だね。」、だそうです。実際この先多くのトナカイに出くわしました。群れでいることが多く、コーナーを抜けた後に道にいることもあったので、結構ビビりました。

Magnus said, "You will see lots of them fromnow on. Especially in Finland, there are heaps. So you have to be careful!". As he said, I saw many reindeers on the road. Often they were in herd and sometimes after we came out of a corner, they were on the road!!

フィヨルドの淵を走ります。ワインディングが気持ちい。イイ景色がそこら中にありますが、なかなかバイクを停められず（走っていて楽しいでので停まりたくないのもありますが）、写真が撮れません。

We rode along side of fjords. I liked riding through those twisties. There were heaps of wonderful sceneries. But I could not find a place to pull over (also as I was enjoying riding, I did not want to stop at all!), there was no photo.

ちょっと丘を登ると、そこは森林限界点で風景はアンデスのアルティプラーノに酷似です。空気の冷たさも似てますね。

Once we left the coast and came up little higher, the scenery became just like Altiplano of Andes. The chilled air was also similar to that of Altiplano.


そしてトンネルに入ります。海底トンネルです。最近まで有料だったそうですが、トンネル工事費の元を取ったそうで、現在は無料です。

Then we entered the underground - cross channel - tunnel. There used to be a toll until recently, but as they had made enough money to cover the construction cost of the tunnel, it became toll free.

ながいトンネルを抜けると、晴れ間が広がってました!!　

After we came out from the long, long tunnel, there was a blue sky!


フィヨルドがキレイ!!

A beautiful Fjord.


どこもかしこもフィヨルド。ノルウェーは素晴らしい。

Everywhere we went, there were fjords could be seen. Norway is a fantastic place!


そしていよいよ目指す最北端ノールカップです。なんと入園料が160クローネ（なんか映画を見れるオプションだと235クローネで、最初はこちらの金額を請求されます。よく見ると、160クローネのオプションがあります。しかし高い・・・）。まぁ、仕方がないですね、払いましょ。

Finally, we got to "Nordkapp" - the northernmost place can be accessed by a public road. However, the entrance fee was 160 Krones!! In fact, the place was discounted one. The actual price was 235 Krones, which included a movie of Nordkapp... A girl at the toll gate asked for 235Ks first. But Magnus told her that I was from Japan and asking for a free entry for me, then she suggested the 160Ks option. Well, if we had to pay, we had to pay.

さて、行きますか!!　エスペランサは駐車場まで。

We parked our bimmers at the parking lot. Here was as far north as Esperanza could go.


モニュメントが見えてきました。なかなかの景色ですね。

I could see the monument in a distance. The scnery was actually quite spectecular.


断崖が凄い。流石「最果て」ですか。

The cliff was really high above the sea. Yes, here is "the end of the world".


モニュメントには沢山の観光客が。多くの観光バスがここに乗り付けてます。まぁ、ワシもマグナスもなんですけど、わざわざここまで来る動機ってなんですかね??　一般道で来れる最北端だから、なんですが・・・。

There were heaps of tourists in Nordkapp. Many tourist buses brought many tourists here. I was wondering what made them come here? Well, Magnuas and I was there, so we were the same as other toursits, but I was still wondering what would be their motive. Well, it should be that here is the northernmost place can be accessed by a public road.


まぁ、ヒツジは喜んでいるので、ヨシとしましょう！

実はワシも喜んでたり（笑）!!　

Actually, I was very happy too :-)


モニュメントにステッカーを貼りたかったのですが、どうやら全てのステッカーは剥がされてしまうそうです（全くステッカーは見当たりませんでした。三馬力さんのステッカーを見つけたかったのですが、残念ながらありませんでした。）

I wanted to put some stickers (My "M-26-7", "Sanbariki" and "Fazedores de Chuva" stickers) on the monument, but I did not see any sticker on. It seemed to be that any sticker would be peeled away by guards. I wanted to see "Sanbariki" sticker put by Niomi, but now it's gone...

これが北極海。この先は北極点ですね。北緯71°10'21"です。GPSによると71°10'264"でしたが（写真を撮りましたがぶれてしまいました）。

From the edge, I could see Arctic Sea. North Pole will be there. The location was N 71°10'21". According to my GPS it was 71°10'264". This woud be as far north as I would go on this trip.


何故か「あゆみ」が・・・。「あゆみ」って誰だ??

There were some art works around the site. There was an art done by a Japanese girl "Ayumi".


まぁ、ノールカップは実際ユーラシア大陸の最北端でもなければ、ノルウェーの最北端でもないんです。ただ、「一般公道で行ける」最北端、なんです。しかしノルウェーはこのノールカップでガッポリ稼いでいます。ここには立派な施設が建っているのですが、お土産屋には観光客が列を成して高いみやげ物を買ってます。うーん、「最○端」というのはそこまで人々の心を熱くするのか。人間て面白いですね（まぁ、ワシもその「最○端」に心が熱くなってる1人ですが）。

Actually Nordkapp is noeither the northernmost edgeof Eurasia Continent nor he northernmost point of Norway. It is just, as I have mentioned many times, "the northernmost point cold be access by a public road". However, there were heaps of tourists coming here and especially at the souvenir shop, they lined up to get souvenirs!! Well, people would be so excited with "the edge of the world". What interesting creatures we are! Well, I am one of them :-)

ノールカップから引き返してる途中雨が降り始めました。テントを張れば無料ですが、流石にここは風が強いし寒い。ちょっと贅沢にキャビンに泊まることに。今日は1人300クローネです。50米ドル、お高い万円、晋作です。

When we were coming back from Nordkapp, it started to rain. If we pitch our tents, it would be free, but it was windy and cold. So we decided to stay at a cabin again! It cost 300Ks each... Expensive, but we desearve a treat!

が、しかし、ここにも出会いが。スペイン人ライダーのペペ、イタリア人ライダーのクラウディオとロジャー。イタリアン珈琲をご馳走になりながら色々歓談。ペペとスペイン語で会話。ペペ曰く、「最北端で日本人とスペイン語で会話できるなんて!!」、と感動してました。（写真はロジャー撮影）

Then we met fellow motorcyclists, Roger, Claudio (Italy) and Pepe (Spain). Rodger made us cup of Italian coffee and we all talked in Spanish (well Magnus does not speak Spanish, so I translated). Pepe was inpressed to speak in Spanish with a Japanese at the end of the world!!

「イタリアに来たらうちにおいで!!　一緒に走りに行こう!!」とクラウディオとロジャー。やはり、バイク乗りは最高ですね!!

"If you come to Italy, please come to visit us. Let's rde together!", said Rodger and Cloudio. How wonderful to be a motorcyclist.

さて、最北端は達成しました。ここまで時間と闘ってきた感じでヨーロッパを周って来ましたが、これからは多少ゆとりを持って走ることが出来ます。マグナスはフィンランドを抜けてスウェーデンに戻るので明日までは一緒に旅を続けます。
