今日もいい天気。トムと路面電車に乗ってピルセン市の中央広場まで。

It's a fine day! WIth Tom, I took a tram to the city centre.

大聖堂が青空に映えます。

Cathedral looks great!


広場でパーベルと2人の友達ミーシャと落ち合って、先ずは大聖堂の塔に登ります。103メートルの高さがあり、未だにピルセンで一番高い建物だとか。

Here we met up with Pavel and their friend Misa. We went to clib up the Cathedral tower. It is 103m high and still the highest building in Pilsen.


その前に、「願い事を叶えてくれる天使」にお願い事。何を願ったのかは他人に言ってはいけないとか。フレッドがくれた天使のキーリングと天使。大勢の人が願い事をしてきたので、天使の顔は磨耗してツルツルになってしまってます。

Before then, we made a wish with an angel. As over the centuries, so many people made wishes here, the angel is now worn out so much! The angel key ring given by Friedel and the angel of Pilsen.


ヒツジも願い事を。何を願ったのかな、ヒツジ。

Mr. Sheep also made a wish. What wish did he make?


塔からはピルセン市が一望できます。向こうに見える煙突はチェコが誇る「シュコーダ（Škoda）」の工場です。

From the tower, we could see the panoramic view of Pilsen. Those chimneys could be seen in distance are thoseof Soda factory. Skoda's head quarter was used be in Pilsen.


市庁舎は1500年代に建設され、中部ヨーロッパでは現存する最古のルネッサンス建築の1つだとか。

The town hall building was built during 1500s. This is one of the oldest remining renaissance building in central Europe.


それからピルスナー・ウルケル（Pilsner Urquell）のビール工場見学へ。酒が飲めないワシでも、ピルセンに来たらここを外せないでしょう。ミーシャは用事があるので一旦帰宅。代わりにヴォミが参加。

THen we went to the factory of Pilsner Urquell. Even though I cannot drink, I cannot miss this place when visting Pilsen! Misa had to go back home, so she left us. Instead Vomi joined us. He was also a member of Jawa expet\dition team to Norway. But he had to come back to Czech earlier for a state exam, so when I met Tom and Pavel, he was not there.


男4人でツアーに参加し、工場を見学します。生憎写真撮影をするには更に100クローネ必要なので、写真撮影は外側だけ。

We - four guys - joined the factory tour. In order to take photos during the tour, extra 100Ks required, so we did not take any photo inside.


ピルスナー・ビールの歴史から（1842年10月5日にバイエルンから招かれた醗酵技師ヨーゼフ・グロルにより初めてピルスナー・ビール - 下面醗酵ビール - が完成したそうです）、ビン詰め、材料（大麦、ホップ、水）、釜、醗酵所、貯蔵所などなど歩きながら詳しく説明。

The tour explained details of Pilsner Urquell. How / When it was created, about the ingridients of beer, bottling facility, fermentation process, and maturing process etc.

そして最後は樫の木の樽から直接注いだノンフィルターのビールを味わえます。うーん、美味しそうだ。

And in the end of the tour, we got to drink a glass of unfiltered fresh Pilsner Urquell straight from an oak barrel!! It looked really great.


で、ワシも。これは昨日のアルコール・フリーのビールじゃなく本物のピルスナー・ウルケルです。一口飲んでみると、美味いんです。流石、樽から直接注がれたピルスナー。普段はビールは二口目を飲むと、凄く苦いのですが、これは二口目も美味しい。このまま飲んでしまおうかな、なんて思いましたが、3人に飲んでもらいました。

So I tasted it too! It was too good to resisit. I had 2 sips. Usually, 2nd sip I taste only bitterness of beer and I don't like it at all. But this Pilsner Urquell was diferent. Te 2nd sip wa still good! I could kept drinking it,but I would get drunk seriously if I did, sp I gave it to Tom/Pavel/Vomi. 


二口飲んだだけでも、やはり、アルコールがちょっと効いてきました。

I am sure this ber is the best beer I've ever tasted. But just 2 sips of beer made me drunk a bit..

ツアーは一時間ほど。もう1時半過ぎなので腹ペコ。工場に併設してあるレストランで昼飯。今日はビーフ・グヤーシュを。グヤーシュはもともとハンガリーの料理なんですが、お隣チェコでも人気メニュー。付け合せの三種類のダンプリングも美味い。

The tour was around 1 hour. It was really interesting to know the history behind beer making As it was already 1:30pm, we were all hungry!! We had lunch at a restaurant in the factory. I had beef gulash in Czech style. Gulash is actually Hngarian dih but it is very popular in Czech as well. 3 kinds of dmplings were really nice.


それからピルセンの地下街のツアーに参加。ここも写真撮影は100クローネなので、写真は撮りませんでした。ツアーガイドはトムたちの同級生のアナ。地下街は食料やビールの貯蔵、地下水の確保、そして有事の避難場所として使われていました。全長19キロに及ぶピルセンの地下街。ツアーは800メートルくらいしか歩きませんが、なかなか興味深いツアーでしたね。

Then we went to the underground tour. Here also cost 100Ks extra to take photos, so we did not take any photo. Our tour guide was Anna - a friend of Tom/Pavel/Vomi. The underground town was created long time ago for storing foods, beer, and water. It was used as hiding places during war time. In total the undergrond town is 19km long! In the tour we walked only 800m of them but it was very interesting.

そして夕方はアナとミーシャも合流してチェコの伝統舞踊・音楽祭に。ここは写真撮影禁止だったので、写真がありません!!　しかし、音楽といい、ダンスといい、歌といい、素晴らしかったです。トムとパーベルと出会ってなかったら、こんな素晴らしい体験は出来なかったでしょう。

In the evening, with Misa and Anna, we went to see a folklore concert at nearby town. It was prohibited to take photos, so no photo available again :-(

But it was spurb! The music, songs, and dancing were really great. I really enjoyed the show. If I did not meet Tom and Pavel in Norway, I would not have had a chance to see such a wonderful show.

そしてピルセンのライダークラブの会長トーマスさんとライダー・パブで会談。ワシの旅のことなど色々話しました。

Then we went to a riders pub (Pension) to see local rider club member Tomas. We talked about my trip.

本当に充実した1日でした。

It was a really great day!! Thanks Tom, Pavel and new friends I made today!!

さて、明日はミュンヘンに戻ります。

Tomorrow I will be back to Munich!!

ピルセン、いい街ですねぇ。もう少し長居したい気もしますが、エスペランサの定期整備をミュンヘン近郊のアウグスバーグのディーラーで予約してあるので行かなければ行けません。
