えー、昨日は思わせぶりな終わり方をしたので、いったい「なにがなんなのか？」と思われた方も多いと思いますが、なにかは内緒です。

今日も曇りがち。たまに雨。寒い。昨日の「なにか」に対する対策本部が朝カサカサで結成されました（メンバーはヒデさん、ツルさんとワシ）。さてどうするか？

カザフは相変わらず具合悪し。南米からメキシコに戻ってきたシコボーイがアミーゴへ戻ってきてとワシとカザフにラブコールを送ってきたので、逆にサンクリに呼び寄せました。明日の朝到着予定。

カタオカさんと昼飯を食堂街へ。久しぶりに魚を食べる。淡水魚のから揚げですね。ブラックバスでしょうかね、そんな顔をしてます。味はまぁまぁ、ちょっと泥臭し。珈琲を付けて38ペソ。意外に高し。

観光でもしようかなと思いましたが、寒いし降りそうなのでカサカサへ。
帰って来たら「なにか」に対する対策は無用のものとなってました。まったく人騒がせです。

寒いのでベッドの上でグダグダ。そして昼寝。夜は帰りに見かけたPollo屋（BBQチキン屋）にしようとカタオカさんと出かけましたが、5時半で閉店…。仕方ないので4日連続トルタ屋で夕飯。今日はトルタはやめてワラチ（Huarachi)を頼んでみました。肉、トマト、アボカド、キノコ、チーズ、ハムなどが揚げたトルティーヤの上に載ってる食べ物です。まぁ、美味しいんですけど、他のものと変わらないんですよね、基本的に。ちょっとメキシコ料理にはガッカリなんですよね…。

カサカサに戻り、あとはこの先の情報集め。


Day 173: 2011年1月13日

Well, some of you are wondering what happened yesterday and what I found out, but I cannot disclose that here. I am sorry!

It was overcasted from the morning and sometimes sprinkling. And it's cold. 
El Chino is still sick. Poor him. Nao has come back to Mexico City from South America and asking El Chino and I to go back to Pension Amigo. But I made him to come to San Christobal instead! He will be here tomorrow morning.

Kataoka-san and I went to Food Court(?) for lunch. I had deep fried fish. The taste was OK. I guess the fish is fresh water fish and it smelt a bit.

Back to the hostel, it was cold,. Net surfing on the bed and napping. Another lazy day.....

We wanted to have BBQ Pollo (Chicken) for dinner. We walked to the shop but it was closed at 5:30pm!! So we had dinner at the Torta shop again. I had Huarachi instead of a torta. The taste was good. But I am kinda bored with Mexican foods now. Almost everything has got the same flavour... I want to try something different, por favor!!

Back to the hostel, I started to get information for my next destination.

Day 172: 2011年1月12日

今日は朝から雨。寒し。こうなるとやる気も出ません。
ワンピースの続きを。カタオカさんもカザフもダラダラ。カザフはどうも風邪を引いたらしい。
アミーゴであれだけ風邪が流行っていても引かなかった彼がついにダウン。
カサカサにあるワンピース35巻（途中抜けている巻もあり）読破。ネット。
朝飯も昼飯もベッドの上でクッキー。ほんと、どうしょうもない旅人生活だな。

夜はカザフは動けないのでカタオカさんとトルタ屋で。しばらく歓談し9時ごろカサカサに戻ってきたら、な、なんと!!!!

It was raining from the morning. It was cold. So I could not get out of the bed. Continued reading the comic "One piece". El Chino got sick and Kataoka-san was also being lazy just reading comics.
I had biscuits for breakfast and lunch on the bed. I am now such a lazy traveller....

I got really hungryy, so Kataoka-san and I went to the Torta shop for dinner. We chat for a while and came back to the hostel. And I found out................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 171: 2011年1月11日

今日は寒い！しかも曇り。雨が降りそうで降らないような…。

昼過ぎにカザフとカタオカさんと中華料理屋に。富永地図でこの街で1番美味しいとあったので期待していきました。1人65ペソのセットメニューを3人前。炒め物は中々いけたのですが、揚げ物は…。かなり量も多く胃が持たれて、午後からの行動をする気がなくなりました。

カサカサに戻り、今更ながらワンピースを読み始める。しかも4巻から。カザフもカタオカさんも昼寝してますし。もうダラダラです。 気が付けばもう7時過ぎ。夕飯を食べようと出かける支度をしてたら雨が！止むまでしばらく待機。8時過ぎに止んだのでトルタ屋で夕飯。景気付けにそのままストリップ劇場にタクシーでいきましだが、更地になってました！ 今日はそんな一日でした。

It was cloudy from the morning. It looks like will be raining anytime.

El Chino, Kataoka-san and I went to eat in Long Cheng Chinese restaurant. According to the guide map at the hostel here is the BEST Chinese restaurant in town. We ordered the set menu.
How was the taste? Stir fried dish wasn't that bad, but deeap fried dish was.....
The serving was huge and we got upset stomach later...

Back to the hostel, we could not move as we were to full and got stomac upset. Two of my friends were having nap, so I started to read a comic "One Piece!". This supposed to be the most poplar comic in Japan nowadays but I have never read it.

When we realised it was already after 7pm. We were preparing to go out for dinner, it started to rain. It got harder so we waited to get it cleared. Afer 8pm, it got cleared, so we went out to the Torta shop. After that we went to the strip bar shown on the map (nearthe grave yard). We caught  a cab there

Day 170: 2011年1月10日

今日は朝から話しに盛り上がりました。世界を旅し始めてかれこれ30年というタイラーさんとカサカサのご主人ヒデさんとでイロイロ日本の在り方について2時間くらい話し込んでました。

1時にスティーブンとソカロで待ち合わせをしていたので、タイラーさんとカザフスタンとで昼飯を食べにいったあとソカロに。タイラーさんは今日旅立ってしまうので、残念です。もう少し話をしたかったですね。

ソカロでタイラーさんと別れてスティーブンを待ちます。ちょっと遅れてスティーブン登場。カザフとワシはサンクリ無案内なので、というか全く下調べしてないのでスティーブンにくっついて行くことに。なんかサンファン・チャムラという村に行くそうです。原住民の文化が強く、村の教会の儀式も土着マヤ文化とカトリックが融合した面白いものになっているそうです。

乗合ワゴンのコレクティーボに乗って30分。何故だがサンクリの街は渋滞していて抜けるのにかなり時間がかかりました。

村と言うわりには人口が6万人近くあります。カザフとスティーブンが腹が減ったと言うので、2人がタコスを食べるのを待ってから教会へ。教会に入るには入場料20ペソ支払います。写真撮影は厳禁です。

中は暗く、床には松の葉が敷かれており、無数のロウソクが燃えています。祈っている人は床に座り松の葉を押しのけてロウソクを何本も立てて祈ります。ゲップをすることで体内の悪を出すとのことで、炭酸飲料を飲みながらするそうです。周りには聖者の像が飾ってありますが、皆ローブをまとっています。これは旧教会が焼けてしまったので、信者が聖者を罰する為に手を切り落としたのですが、後に許されたので斬られた手を隠すためだそうです(スティーブン曰く)。それにしても沢山の聖者がいます。普通教会の一番奥の真ん中には磔にかかったイエス像なのですが、イエスは左にあって、知らない聖者が真ん中で目立ってました。かなり他の教会とは違いますね。

教会を出て市場をブラブラしていたら何とシンリ選手が！焼け落ちた旧教会を見に行くと告げたらシンリ選手も同行することに。

旧教会は村の中心から少し離れた所にあります。教会の周りには墓地になっていて、しかも土葬です。棺にもはいってなさそうです。教会に墓地って何だか不思議な感じがします。丁度埋葬が行われているみたいで、墓地の中心辺りに人が群がっていました。お墓の土が盛り上がっている所に足跡があったりとかなりいい加減な感じもありますが、なんとなく触れてはいけないような感じもしました。

村の中心に戻る途中で店があったのでトイレ休憩。なんとこんな村までBIMBOは進出しています！さすが世界一のBIMBO!!

帰りはまたコレクティーボに乗ってサンクリまで。スティーブンも疲れたとの事なので、今日はこれでお別れ。カサカサに戻ると、なんとパレンケに行った筈のカタオカさんが！パレンケは一泊で済ませて来たそうです。

夕方にタイラーさんが出た後、シンリ選手、ゴロスケ、ムサシのアミーゴからの友が出て行きました。3人を見送ってから夕飯を食べに外に出て、軽く歓談したら疲れがドッとでてきたので、もうお休みです。


Day 170: 10 Jan 2011

Today Stephen took me and El Chino to San Juan Chamura where indegenous people hold strong culture and autonomy. He said the church in the village is very unique. The ritual of which is the combination of Mayan religion and Chathoric.

We took a colectivo to the village. It takes usually 20 mins but we stuck in a traffic to get out from San Christobal, so it took more than 30mins to get there.

The sign states there is nearly 60,000 population in this area, and I was surprised with the number. It isn't small village at all. Stephen and El Chino was hungry, so I waited for them to eat tacos.
 
To enter the church, we had to pay MX$20, which is not cheap. Inside of the church was really dark. There were pine leaves covering all over the floor and tons of candle burning. Those people chanting were sitting on the floor and removed those pine leaves, and put dozon of candle in front of them.They have soda drink and alchole when chanting.  Why soda? Soda makes people burp, and they believe by burping, they can get out evil spirits from their body. 
Fume from candle and darkness mademe little sick. Those statues of Saints were wearing robes. This is beacause their hands were cut off due to panishment. What panishment? The old church was burnt down, and all village people blamed Saints not to protect their church!! What a!!!

Usually in Catheric chrches, Jesus is in the center of the church. But here, one Saint was in the center (I forgot the name). Everything is different from other churches I know. So it was quite an experience.

We walked around the market and about to visit the old curch burnt down, we saw Shinri. Shinri has been here for a few times and he likes here. He joined us to the old church. It was a little far away from the centre of the village. Around the building of the church, it was the grave yard. It did not look like bodies were in coffins. There were mounts of soil over the bodies. The strange thing to me was there were foot prints on the mounts. Don't they respect the deads??
There was burial going on in the middle of the grave yard. We did not dare to get closer though. I felt that we should not disturb "them".

Back to the centre of the village and we caught a colectivo to San Christobal.
As we all were tired, we went back to our hostels.

Day 169: 2011年1月9日

Acayucan to San Christobal de Las Casas

今日はサンクリまで直行です。朝6時に起きる筈が流石にそれはちょっと無理でした。 7時前に起きて8時前に出発。

コアツァコアルコス(Coatzacoalcos)までは下道でいきましたが、トペも多く軍の検問で荷物検索されるなど時間がかかるだけなので、アウトピスタに切り替えます。 ベラクルス州、タバスコ州、チアパス州の三州を一気に走り抜けます。しかし途中舗装がメチャクチャ！こんなヒドイ舗装はオーストラリアのド田舎でもありませんでしたよ。しかもここは有料道路なのに！

しかしプエンテ・チアパス橋(Puente Chiapas)は湖の上にかかっていて、眺めよし！ 橋を超えればチアパス州の州都トゥクストラまで直ぐです。ここまでくればサンクリまで後一時間です。

ナビに今日の宿カサカサのGPSコーディネートをセットしていたのですが、一方通行が多くてなかなか辿り着けません。ようやく辿り着き、チェックイン。なんとゴロスケ、シンリ、ムサシ、それにカザフまでいます。ツルさんは只今外出中だとのこと。今日は222ペソの高速代でした。

カザフと遅い昼飯を飯屋街に食べに行き、街をズラブラ。宿に帰ってシャワーに洗濯。ネットしてたらスティーブンと連絡がつき、再会することに。グアナファトでわかれてから2ヶ月半ぶりの再会です。メキシコシティで車に当てられたのでバイクはメキシコシティで修理中ですが、彼はいたって元気。しばらく話に盛り上がりました。 明日はスティーブンが街を案内してくれることになりました。


Day 169: 9 Jan 2011

Acayucan to San Christobal de Las Casas

Today I will get to San Christobal. I planned to wake up at 6am but it was too early. I could do it when I was camping 3 months ago, though.

I woke up before 7am and left the hotel before 8am. Filled up gas and checked tire pressure, then I took the non-toll highway to Coatzacoalcos. But there were lots of topes and I was caught in a millitary check point. THey just asked me to open my panniers and top box, so no big deal, but I had enough of the slow pace, so I took Freeway again. The toll was much cheaper than yesterday, but the road condition was real bad even on the freeway. Some parts were even worse than the worsed paved road in roads in remote Australia. 

But the view from Puente Chiapas (Chiapas Bridge) was awesome! The bridge was built accross the lake and it was a quite view.

It was a little ride to Tuxtla, the capital of Chiapas, after the bridge. From Tuxtla, it took one hour to San Christobal. But it took a while to find the hostel (Casa Kasa) I planned to stay. I set up GPS cordinate in my SatNav, but there were too many one-ways, so I could not get to the place easily.

Arriving at Casa Kasa, there were those faces I know. El Chino, Gousuke, Shinri, Musashi, and Tsuru. El Chino and I went out for the late lunch. We walked around the town and looked around markets and local tianghis.  

Later in the afternoon, I went out again to see Stephen. It has been more than 2 months since we were apart in Guanajuato. He cooked pasta and we had a god talk. Tomorrow he will take me for the sightseeing.
