Rijeka to Split, Croatia (Hostel Adria)

85,746km to 86,137km = 391km

今日は曇り。でも気温は8℃とそんなに寒くない。

It's cloudy. But the air temp was around 8℃, so it was not that cold.

一昨日と昨日は高速道路を使ったから、今日は一般道で行ってみよう！

Recently I was too hurry riding down south and used the motorways, so today I took the local roads.

クロアチアの地形は山がいきなりアドリア海に落ち込んでいるから、中々複雑。岩の荒々しい崖や斜面に道路を造ってあるから、クネクネ曲がっていて面白い。

The land scape of Croatia at Adriatic Sea is very interesting. Those Ricky hills rise up just from the sea shores. The road goes through those places, so there are lots of curves! I enjoyed riding through the curves!

ぱっ、とした景色がなかなかイイ感じ。

Those sceneries I could see while riding were quite good.

なかなか停まること出来ないから写真には納められないけど。

Unfortunately, there weren't much place to pull over, so I could not take much photos.

この景色なんて、ノルウェーのフィヨルドを彷彿させてくれる。

This one reminds me of fjords in Norway.



湾が深くて、街がその奥にあって。

The bay is narrow and deep, then a settlement is located at the end of the bay.



道路はこんな感じで造られている。地震があったら一気に崩れそう。

The road is built like that! If there is an earthquake, everything will come to fall!??



しばらく海岸沿いを走り、今度は内陸へ。

I rode along side of the coast and then went inland.

だんだんと標高が上がって行き、標高600メートルを超えたら雪が残っている。

The altitude rose pretty quickly and I started to see some snow remaining on the road side above 600m high.

気温も4℃！寒い。

The air temp dropped to 4℃! It was cold!

所々に村がある。農業が主体だろうけど、冬場は寒いね。

There were some villages along the way. I reckon the main industry here is farming, but in winter time it would be too cold to make anything.



更に標高は上がり800メートルくらいまで上がると、辺りは雪だらけ。気温も2℃まで落ちた。

The altitude got higher and at around 800m high, the fields were covered by snow entirely still. The air temp went down to 2℃!



湿地の池が凍っているところも。

The surfaces of some swamps were frozen...

しばらく山の中を走る。ガソリンスタンドで給油休憩したり、スーパーで食材買って駐車場で昼飯食べたり。

I had to ride in the plateau for a while. I made a few stops at a petrol station and a supermarket for lunch.

で、ついに降り！標高が下がれば暖かくなる。しかも、晴れ間が！

Finally, I came to descending! As I came down, it got warmer! And it was getting sunny!



が、しかし、ここら辺からGPSがおかしくなってきた…。

But, but, my GPS started to behave funny around here.

オンとオフを繰り返すのだ。

It went On and Off all the time...

電源はちゃんとつながっているし、一昨日買ったばかりのGarmin純正の充電器だぞ。

It was connected to the power and the charger was just purchased 2 days ago and it's the Garmin genuine one.

田舎道だからいいけど、街中でこうなったらナビどころではない。

As I was still riding in the country side, it wouldn't really affect me much, but if it happened in the town, I would have navigation problem...

電源を外すし、バッテリーで作動させると問題ない。フム、何がおかしいのだろう？

If I took off the charger and used it with the internal battery, it worked fine. I wondered what was wrong.

まぁ、道はわかりやすいのでそのままスプリトまで向かう。

The way to Split was very clear without the GPS, so I kept riding.

スプリト直前に山から降りてきて、アドリア海に再会！

Just before Split, I came down from the mountains and met Adriatic Sea again!

スプリトを過ぎて東へ。

I passed the city and continued to the east.

今日の宿「Hostel Adria」はスプリトの東郊外に位置している。

Today's accommodation "Hostel Adria" is located in a small town called "Jesnice" at the east of Split city.

海岸沿いを走るのだが、アドリア海が美しい。

I was riding along the shore and the scenery was so beautiful.

が、しかし、GPSで住所を入力してあったのだが、全然見つからない！

But I could not find the hostel! I turned on the GPS again, but there was no sign of the hostel...

何回か行ったり来たり。人にも訊ねたが、なかなか見つからない。

I went passed many times. I asked people but still no success.

ようやく、この辺かな、というところで停まって辺りをうかがっていたら、おじさんが、「あそこだよ」、と教えてくれた。

Finally I came back to the origin. I trusted the GPS location. I pulled over and looking around the place. Then a gentleman told me "There is the hostel!"

看板は出ていないし、ネットの番地と違うけど!?

It did not have any sign and the street number was different from the address shown on the web!?

でも、ここで正解だった。

But he was right!

これは見つからんわ。

No wonder I could not find it by myself.

ガレージがちゃんとあって、早速エスペランサを中へ。

The hostel has a proper garage and I parked Esperanza securely there.

苦労して見つけた甲斐もあってか、目の前はアドリア海と言うことなし！

It was worth finding this hostel as it is in front of the sea! A nice setting indeed!



どうもシーズンオフ中らしく(そらゃそうだ)、宿のおじさん、おばさんも客が来るとは思っていなかったから、部屋が準備出来ていない、と。あれ、ネットで予約したんだけど。

It's in off season (of course), and the owner couple did not expect any guest, so the room was not ready... I made a booking on the web though.

いいねぇ、このいい加減さが。ラテンではないけど、ここはダルマチア。古代ローマ帝国の属州だったからラテン的なノリなんだろう！

Well, it doesn't matter! It reminded me of Latin America. Well here is Darmatia - the former colony of Roman Empire. So people here probably have some Latin DNA!?

宿もなかなか良い感じ。

The hostel itself seems nice too.



部屋の準備をしている間、海を眺めて過ごす。

I was waiting for the room done seeing the sea.

だんだんと陽が暮れてきた。

The sun was setting into the sea.



部屋からも海が一望。

I have the sea view by myself from the room balcony!



当然他に客は居ないから、個室状態。

Of course, there is no other guest, so I can use the room just for myself.

でも、淋しいな…。

But I'm lonely...

ここも周りに店がなくて、スーパーまで10分くらい歩く。しかもスーパーは品揃えが悪く、ろくな食材が買えない。

There is no shop around the hostel (again!) I had to walk quite a bit to get to a shop. The shop was small and they did not have much selections.

それ以外は良い宿だけど。

Otherwise, it's a good place to stay.

さて、明日はスプリト観光でもしますかね。あのローマ皇帝ディオクレティアヌスが隠居所として創った街。その隠居城も残っているのだ。楽しみだ！

Well, tomorrow I will go to the city of Split and do some sightseeing. There is Diocletian Palace in the city (it was the origin of the city). The first Roman Emperor who retired from his throne before his death. He made his retirement palace on Split. Very interesting!

海から、崖、山、雪、また海へとクロアチアは変化に富んでいて走っていて楽しいです。

Day 940: 2013年3月22日

Maribor, Slovenia to Rijeka, Croatia (Apartments Luana)

今日は朝から良い天気！

It's a fine day from the morning!

本当はもう一泊したかったんだけど、天気の良いうちに南下しないとね。

I wanted to stay here one more day but I'd better go south while the weather is good. It's expected to snow on Sunday.

朝飯食べて荷物を積んだら、先ずは洗車場へ。昨晩ネットで検索して一件だけ見つかったのだ。

First, I went to a car wash place where I found on the web last night. I got only a hit in this city...

街外れの高級ホテルに併設してある洗車場。

It's operated by a luxury hotel and it is next to the hotel.

コインを入れると高圧洗車機が作動して自分で洗えるのだ。

With some coins, the pressured water came out from the nozzle and I could wash Esperanza with my hands!

エスペランサにこびりついた塩を流す流す！

I got rid of salt stuck on her.



これで、塩害を防げた。

Now she was saved from corrosion by salt.

時刻は10時。さて、今日の目的地クロアチアはリエカに向かいますか。

It's 10am. I headed to today's destination Rijeka, Croatia.

高速道路を首都リュブリャナ方面へ。

I took the motorway to the capital Ljubljana.

郊外に出ると田園が広がる。

Once outside of the city, the farms and fields extends.

遠くに雪山も見えてなかなか走ったいて気持ちいい。

I could see the snow mountains on the distance and it was a pleasant ride.

スロベニアは小さい国だから、高速道路を使えばあっという間に抜けられる。

Slovenia is fairly a small country. If I take a motorway, I can pass through the country in no time.

しかし、高速道路を使うと街並みも見れないし、人の顔も見ることも稀。

But if I use the motorway, I would not see any town, meet none...

途中ガソリンスタンドで休憩して始めて人と接する。

On the motorway, only when I stop at petrol stations I have some interactions with people.



センタースタンド立ててエンジン・オイルのレベルを確認。問題なし。

I put Esperanza on the centre stand and checked the engine oil level. No problem!



幸いなことにリュブリャナを過ぎてクロアチア方面に抜ける道は高速道路はなく一般道。

Fortunately, there was no motorway from Ljubljana to Croatia. So I was riding on the local roads.

くねくね曲がる道に点在する街を抜けながら走る。道の脇には小川も流れていて、いいねぇ。

I rode through curves and passing by those villages along side of the road. Beside the road, there was a creek running. A nice country scenery.

国境手前でユーロからクロアチア・クナに両替。1ユーロは7.5クナくらい。

Just before the border, I made a short stop for exchanging Euros to Croatia Kunas. The rate was around €1 = 7.5 Kunas.



さて、国境だ。

Then I came to the border. It's been a while since I crossed the real border with Esperanza.



クロアチアはシェンゲン協定国じゃないから、ちゃんとパスポートコントロールがある。

Croatia is not a part of Schengen Treaty, so the border crossing requires a proper passport control.

先ずはスロベニア側から出国。

I exited out Slovenia.

そしてクロアチア側。行き先を訊かれただけでなんなく入国！

Then I entered Croatia. The officer asked me where I was heading and stamped my passport! Easy.

これで56ヶ国目！

It's the 56th country to visit.



しばらく走ると海が見えてきた！アドリア海だ！

I rode on the motorway for a short time, and I saw a sea! Adriatic Sea it was!

なんかテンション上がるな！

I was very excited!

リエカは国境からわりかし近くだから1時半過ぎには到着。

Rijeka is located near the border to Slovenia and Italy. I got there by 1:30pm.

今日の宿は山の上にあるから、海岸から一気に山に上がる。

The apartment I booked for today was on the top of the hill. I rode up the hill from the coast.

おー、山の上からも海が見える！

From the hill the view of Adriatic Sea was excellent.



で、今日の宿「Apartments Luana」。個室で24ユーロ。昨晩急遽リエカ行きを決めたから、駐車場のある宿はここしか見つからなかったのだ。

This is "Apartment Luana". A private room costs €24. Suddenly I decided to go to Rijeka last night, I could not find any other accommodation with a parking space.



でも、海が見えるし、イイか！

But here seems to be a good one! I have a sea view!



部屋からも海が見える。

From the room too!



が、しかし、周りに店が無いからバイクで街まで出るしかない。

But there is no shop around, so I have to ride down to the town to get anything.

って、ことで街まで。

So I rode to the town.

リエカはクロアチアの主要港町。イタリアが支配していた時代もありフィウメという名でも知られている。「川」という意味らしい。

Rijeka is one of the main port town of Croatia. It was used to be a part of Italy as well. So Rijeka is also know as Italian name "Fiume". Both "Rijeka" and "Fiume" mean "River".

自由都市だったが、第一次と第二次世界大戦でこの街の運命も大きく変わる。

Even though it was a part of Italy, it was the autonomous city. But the great wars changed its fate.

戦時中末期ナチス・ドイツが占領していた経緯から、連合国側のユーゴスラビア軍により征服され、ユーゴスラビアの一都市となったのだ。

Towards the end of the WWⅡ it was occupied by Nazi Germany. The troops of Yugoslavia, a part of the allies, took the city from the hand of Nazi, then Rijeka became a city of Yugoslavia.

その際大量のイタリア系住民がイタリアに亡命したのだそう。

Then due to the fear of extermination, Italian residents of the city fled to Italy.

そんな悲しい歴史もあるこの街。

It has such a sad history.

港から直ぐに山が迫っていて、なんとなくジェノバを思い出してくれる。

Rijeka reminds me of Genova a bid as the hill rises straight up from the bay.



でも、雰囲気は違うな。

But it has a different atmosphere from Genova.



先ほどの暗い過去とは関係無いように開けた感じ。

Even though it has the dark history behind, current Rijeka is very open, that I felt.



マリボルでは歩いていると結構珍しい目で見られたんだけど、ここでは全然そんなことは無い。

In Maribor, many people stared at me (I reckon they haven't seen much Asian), but in Rijeka none gave any attention to me! That's better!



サンドイッチを頬張りながら街中を歩いていたけど、なんか疲労が出てきたので宿に戻って仮眠。

I was walking around the town having a sandwich, then suddenly I felt so so tired. So I went back to the apartment and had a nap.



起きたら、夕陽が窓から。

When I got up, the sun set was seen from the window.



やはり、海が見える、っのはイイやね。

I did not thing the sea view would provide me such a joy, but it does!

Day 939: 2013年3月21日

Vienna, Austria to Maribor, Slovenia (Hostel Pekarna)

85,224km to 85,486km = 262km

夜半に多少雨が降ったみたいだけど、朝は曇り。

It seemed rained a bit during the night. But in the morning, it was cloudy.

行き先のマリボルは午後から晴れ、と予報だから、これは降られることはないな。

According to the weather forecast, in Maribor, where I was heading to, it would be sunny from the afternoon. So I didn't worry to get wet today.



今日は遅めに10時に出発。スロベニアまでは山越えもあるから、今日も高速道路を使ってしまおう。

I left the hostel at 10am. A late start. As I had to go through mountains on the way to Slovenia, I used the motorway.

高速道路に入って最初のガソリンスタンドで高速道路のチケットを購入。10日間で4.80ユーロ。

I purchased a motorway ticket at the first petrol station I saw on the motorway. It was€4.80 for 10 days.

ウィーンから南部のグラーツまでは山を越える。路肩には雪が多くなって行く。

From Vienna to Graz, I rode up to the pass. As I went higher, there was more snow on the road side.

寒いのでちょっと休憩。雪が、ね。

It got colder, so I took a rest at a petrol station. Well, the snow made the air colder.



まだまだ山は続く。

I continued riding through the mountains.

グラーツ手前から降りにはいり、晴れていて気温も上昇！

Before Graz, the road went down slope, and it got sunny and warmer!

グラーツを越えれば、もう直ぐスロベニア。

After passing Graz, Slovenia was just a step away.

この旅で55カ国目入国！

This is my 55th country to visit on this trip!



スロベニアでも高速道路のチケットを購入。7日間で7.80ユーロ。これは高い…。

I purchased a motorway ticket for Slovenia too. It was €7.80 for 7 days! It's more expensive than in Austria!

マリボルには1時半ごろ到着。旧市街を通ると、なかなかの景観。

I got to Maribor by 1:30pm. As I found the old town was really pretty!



なかなか良さそうな街だ。

The initial impression of the city was very good.

今日の宿ペカルナは最近出来たばかりみたいで、すごく綺麗。

The hostel of the day "Hostel Pekarna" is newly opened recently and it is very clean!

4ベッドのドミなんだけど、どうやら今日は他に客もいないから個室状態？

My room is 4 bed dorm, but it seems like I am only one using it tonight! A private room!?, Yeah!

鍵がかかる棚も充実していて、荷物を入れるのに困らない。

There are many lockable storages within the room, so it is really secure here.

今までで1番綺麗で快適なホステルかも。

This could be the cleanest and the most comfortable hostel I've ever stayed.



この街でやりたいことは2つ。

I have 2 things I want to do in this town.

1つはエスペランサを洗うこと。ドイツやチェコでは雪や雨に降られたんだけど、道路が凍結しないように塩がまかれている。

1: Washing Esperanza. On the motorways of Germany and Czech, in order not to freeze the surface of the roads, they spread salt on the road.

それが車体にこびりついているから、早く洗い流したい。

Esperanza is covered by salt now. I really want to wash the salt away.

2つ目はGPSの充電器を買うこと。

2: Buying a charger for my Garmin GPS.

宿の人に場所を訊いて、早速いってみた。

I asked the receptionist of the hostel where I could find those places, and I rode to the town.

が、しかし、洗車屋は見つからず。ガソリンスタンドで訊いてみたけど、自動洗車しかなく、バイクが洗えるところは知らない、と。

But I could not find a car washing place... I found a petrol station with automatic car washer, but the staff did not know where I could find a place to wash a motorcycle...

なかなか手洗い出来る洗車施設は見かけないんだよねぇ。

I've hardly seen a place to wash car manually...

で、充電器を買いに。これは宿の人に教えてもらった場所で買えた。

But I could buy a charger at the store I was told.

宿に戻り、パニアをエスペランサから外し、掃除。右パニアは相変わらず水漏れしているからどうにかせんとなぁ。

Back to the hostel, I took off the panniers and cleaned them. There was water in the right pannier. This has been a problem since I hit a bicycle in Peru... I gotta do something about it.

それから旧市街へ。

Then I walked to the old town.

橋から見る旧市街は、良い感じ。

The view of the old town from the bridge. They are pretty, aren't they?



最近くまばっかりだけど、主役はヒツジです。

It's been lots of photos with the bear recently, but Mr. Sheep!!



旧市街は狭い範囲だけど、なかなか良い雰囲気を出している。

The area is pretty small but the old town has a good atmosphere.



マリボル、気に入った！

I like Maribor!



宿に戻り、スーパーで買ったサンドイッチとヨーグルトの夕飯を済ます。

Back to the hostel, I had a sandwich and a yogurt I bought at a supermarket.

パニアのことを考える。フタと本体がしっかり閉まっていないのが原因なのはわかっていた。

I was thinking what to do with the pannier. Then I got a good idea. As there is a gap between the lid and the box, I need to close it.

そのギャップにテープを貼れば、水は入ってこないんだけど、開け閉めするたんびに張り替えないといけないし、たまに忘れる。

I usually tape the gap when it's raining. But I have to retake it every time I open the pannier. And sometimes I forget to tape it.

あ、そうだ、クィックメタル(エポキシ)があったな。それでギャップが出来ないようにすれば良いのだ！

Then I realised I had epoxy "Quick Metal". I can use it to seal the gap!

ということで、やってみた。まぁ、結果は雨が降らないとわからないけど、上手くいくといいな。

So I did. I have to put it in the test - ride in the rain - to see the result.

で、この宿快適なんどけど、明日と明後日は良い天気。その後天気は悪くなるのだ。

I'd love to stay in this hostel longer, but only tomorrow and the day after would be fine weather and the following days would be snowing!!

なので、明日クロアチアに移動し、南下してしまおう。

So I decided to go south further to Croatia before the weather get worth.

そうすれば、雨が降ってもそんなに寒くない。

If I am in south, even if it rains, it wouldn't be that cold.

本当はもう一泊してゆっくりしたかったのですが、天気次第なのでそうも言ってられません。さてと、明日はいよいよシェンゲン協定国外に出ます。保険とか面倒くさそうだな…。

Day 938: 2013年3月20日

Pilzen, Czech Republic to Vienna, Austria (Hostel Hütteldorf)

今日は曇り。でもだんだんと晴れて行く予報。Viva Soviet!!!

It was cloudy in the morning, but according to the forecast, it will be better later in the day! Viva Soviet!



朝飯を食べて用意が出来たら、先ずはトーマスの車で街まで。

After breakfast, Tom took me to the town.



昨日車両保険の話をしていたら、トーマスのグリーンカードはバルカン諸国も、トルコも、ロシアもカバーされているのだ！

Yesterday we were talking about motor insurance "Green Card" and Tom's one is covering all Balkan nations, Turkey and even Russia!

ワシのはバルカン諸国もトルコもカバーされていない。

Mine does not cover Balkans, Turkey nor Russia...

なので、ここでグリーンカードを取得出来れば、この先の保険が心配なくなる、ということ。

So If I can buy a premium here, I wouldn't need to worry about motor insurance onwards, am I correct!?

昨日パブに行く前に実は1軒保険屋を訪ねたのだが、外国で登録された車両には発行できないと。

Actually before we went to the pub last evening, we went to an insurance agency. But they said they could not sell to the foreign registered vehicle.

なので、AXXAのオフィスに行ってみた。AXXAは国際的な保険会社だからもしかしたら、ということで。

So this morning, we went to an office of AXXA. AXXA is an international insurance company, so it might sell a premium to me.

が、しかし、やはり外国登録の車両に対してはグリーンカードを発行出来ないと…。

But we got the same answer...

残念だけど仕方が無い。

Well, if they say so, so be it.

で、保険のことは諦めてパーベル宅へ。途中太陽が顔を出した！

So we gave up finding other agencies, and headed to Pavel's. Then the sun came out!

エスペランサに荷物を積んで、さあ、出発！

I put back the luggage on Esperanza and ready to go!

で、ここでお別れか、と思ったら、ワシのGPSの充電器が壊れかかっているので、高速道路の入り口の近くの電気屋までエスコートしてくれたのだ。

Well, it wasn't the farewell to them as yet! As my GPS charger was breaking down, they escorted me to an electronic store near the entrance of motorway.

残念ながらここにはワシのGPSに合う充電器がなかったのだけれど、本当にありがとね！

Unfortunately, we couldn't find one for my GPS, but thank you guys anyway! See you again soon!

さて、目指すはウィーン。高速道路に乗ってプラハ方面へ。

Today my destination was Vienna, Austria. I got on a motorway and headed to to Prague.

天気は良く、気温も10℃と昨日よりも断然に暖かい筈なんだけど、体感温度が低いような…。

It was sunny and the air temp was around 10℃' but I felt colder than yesterday...

走っていて寒い。周りが雪だから、空気が冷やされるのか？

I reckoned I felt colder as the road was surrounded by fields full of snow. So the air got cooled!?



プラハ手前から高速道路は南下し、オーストリアとの国境へ。

Just before Prague, I took a turn to south to the border to Austria.

だんだんと高度が上がり、寒くなってきた。

As I got higher in altitude, it got colder...

しばらく走り、ようやく降りに。だんだん降っていくと、野っ原に積もった雪が少なくなって行く。

I ride for a while going up hill, then finally going down slope. As I descent, snow on fields was getting less and less.

国境近くなると、ほぼ完全に雪がなくなる。青空がありがたい。

Before the border, snow disappeared almost completely.



で、チェコに別れを告げて、

I said good-bye to Czech Republic,



オーストリアに入国！

and said hello to Austria!



一気にウィーンまで走る。

I rode straight to Vienna.

ウィーンの市街も半年ぶり。懐かしいなぁ。同じところで渋滞してるし。なにも変わってない。

It's been half year in Vienna. As I rode through the city, I was surprised that J recalled the way to the hostel! There was congestion at the same spot as half year ago!

で、半年前に泊まった宿に再び！

Then I cam back to the same hostel!



駐車場がある宿を探すのは苦労するんだよね。だから、以前泊まったとこなら間違いなし！

It is hard to find a hostel with a parking. So it is easier to go back to the same hostel I stayed before.

ここは朝飯もついてドミで13ユーロ。悪くない。

The dorm room costs €13 and it comes with breakfast. Not bad at all.

で、明日の行き先を考える。やはり内陸を走るよりも海岸の方が暖かい気がするから、スロベニアに向かおう！

Then I was planning where to go tomorrow. I reckon it would be warmer near the cost than inland. So I will go to Slovenia!

マリボルというスロベニア第2の都市に行くことにに決めた！

I found a nice hostel in Maribor, the 2nd largest city of Slovenia.

が、しかし、明日は雨だってさ…。

But according to the forecast, it'll be raining tomorrow...

で、今回はウィーンには一泊だけの素通り。なので観光なし！

Oh, this time I am not going to do any sightseeing in Vienna.

Day 937: 2013年3月19日

Regensburg, Germany to Pilzen, Czech Republic (The house of Tomas)

84,616km to 84,798km = 182km

今日は晴れ！と思ったら直ぐ雨が降ってきた…。

Oh, it's sunny! Yes, briefly sunny in the morning and it started to rain before I left the hotel...

レゲンスブルク…雨の城、ね。

Regensburg - Rainy castle, indeed!

先ずはBMWディーラー「PIA Motors」へ。

I went to the BMW dealer "PIA Motors".

ファイナルドライブのオイル交換。メカニックのマルクスとは昨日フレッドが電話で話をしたので、行ったら直ぐに仕事にかかってくれた。

I needed to get the final drive oil changed. As Friedel called the workshop yesterday, Marcus the service manager was ready to do the work for me!

ここで新しいR1200GSを初めて見た！

While waiting, I saw the brand-new R1200GS liquid cooled!!!



新開発の水平対抗二気筒水冷1200cc搭載。

Yes, it has a newly developed "liquid cooled" 1,200cc boxer twin!



ショックはサックス製。

The shock absorber is made by SACHS - a German brand.



ウインカーのスイッチがBMW独特じゃなくなった。

I was shocked with the switch if the blinkers! It became "normal" switch rather than the BMW original...



うーん、上手くまとまってるけど、アドベンチャーバイクとしてはどうなのか？、という感じ。

I think it would be a good packaged bike. A good bike. But I wonder as an adventure motorcycle it got worse...

待っている間ディーラーのオーナー氏(残念ながら名前を逸してしまった)がわざわざ会いに来てくれて、歓談。

The owner of the shop came to see me! Unfortunately I lost his name... Sorry.

ヨーロッパはまだまだ寒さが続くから気を付けて行くように、とのアドバイス。

We talked about the trip and other adventure riders. He told me to be careful as it's gonna be still cold in Europe.

料金は38ユーロと良心的！

The service charge was just €38.

雨はまだまだ降っていたけど、せっかくレゲンスブルクにいるから、古都地区へ。

It was still raining, but I went to the old town of Regensburg.

古都は中州と川沿いにあり、ちょっと複雑になっている。

The old town is located in the island of the river, and it's complicated to get there.

晴れた日に散歩するにはいい風情のある街並み。

I reckoned if it was sunny, walking in the town would be nice!

中州には徒歩で行かなければならないみたいで、雨が降っているからやめた。

There seemed to be only on-foot access to the island, so I have up going there (it was raining...)

次回ドイツに来た時に晴れの日にもう一度来たい、ね。

I'd like to visit here again when I come back to Germany one day.

さて、ピルセンに向かおう。

Ok, I gotta ride to Pilzen!

高速道路で一旦北上し、それから東へ。

I took a motorway to Pilzen. It went north and then to east.

雨はだんだんと上がってきた。

The rain eased up.

チェコ共和国国境付近は雪景色に！

As I got closer to Czech Republic, the fields were covered by snow and it got deeper and deeper!



でも気温は4℃くらいと昨日よりは暖かい。バイザーを閉めてられるので、それだけでも大分違う。

But the air temp was above 4℃, so I felt better than yesterday. The most of all, I could ride with the visor shut!

で、チェコ共和国に入国。もちろんシェンゲン協定加盟国なので、国境での出入国手続きはなし。そのまま素通り。

Then I came back to Czech Republic!
There was no border control, so I could ride pass the border.

ピルセンには予定通り2時に到着。早速トーマス宅へ。

I got to Pilzen at 2pm as I planned. I went straight to Tom's place. Thanks to the GPS!



トーマスは大学の卒業試験で忙しいのに温かく迎えてくれた！

Tom is busy with his Uni works, but he welcome me!

ガレージが無いので、直ぐにパーベル宅へ行き、彼のガレージにエスペランサを保管してもらう。

As there is no garage for Esperanza, Tom took me to Pavel's place.

二人とは去年ノルウェーの北部で出会ったのだ。ワシはスウェーデン人のマグナスと一緒に走っていたのだけど、前方に小さなバイクが二台。

I met Tom and Pavel near Nord Kapp. I was with Magnus and we saw 2 little bikes in front of us.

追い抜くとそれはチェコ製のヤヴァ！250ccの2ストロークのレトロバイク！

We overtook them and we were surprised that they were JAWA 250cc 2 stroke bikes!

で、その後キャンプ場のキャビンに泊まったのだけど、先程のヤヴア二人組も同じキャンプ場に来たのだ。

Then Magnus and I found a camp site and it was raining, so we took a cottage for a night. Then 2 young men on JAWAs came to the camp site!

そこで知り合い、ピルセンに是非訪ねてきて、と言われて去年の9月に訪ねたのだ。

We made friends there and they invited us to Pilzen! So I went to see them last September.

あれからもう半年経つんだなぁ。

It's been half year already.

パーベルは仕事があるので、ひとまずトーマスの家に行き、シャワーを浴びて落ち着く。

Pavel had a work to do, so Tom and I went home at once. I took a shower and relaxed.

どうも数日は天気は悪くないけど、また週末にくずれるのだそう。

We checked the weather for next few days. It seems to be good for 2 days but later of this week, it will be bad again...

早目に南下したほうが良さほうだ。

We came to the conclusion that I should head down south ASAP.

取り敢えず明日はオーストリアのリンツかウィーンに向かうことにした。

So tomorrow, I will ride to Linz or Vienna of Austria.

で、夕方皆んなでパブへ。去年会ったフィリップもやって来た。

Then in the evening, we went for a drink at a pub. Philipe I met last September also joined us!



チェコのビール！旨そう！が、しかし、ワシは飲めない…。

The real Czech beer! Looking good, isn't it!? But I cannot drink...



それから映画がパブにて映画鑑賞。ミカエラやピーターもやってきた。

Then we went to a movie bar (?) Michaela and Peter joined us.

イギリス映画なんだけど、チェコ語に吹き替えだからちんぷんかんぷん！

The movie was the British movie but it was doubled with Czech, so I couldn't get the story line!

でも若いみんなとワイワイ、楽しい夜だったよ！

But with those young bright people I could have a fun evening!

さて、明日はウィーンに行くことにした。ウィーンからハンガリー、ルーマニア、ブルガリアと抜けるか、スロベニア、クロアチア、とバルカン諸国を抜けるか考えよう、と。

Tomorrow, I will ride to Vienna. Then I will decide if I am going through Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria or through Slovenia, Croatia and other Balkan nations to Greece.
