今日も快晴!　1時にサトコちゃんと待ち合わせなので、それまでちょっと散歩にでも。何処へ!?

It's asunny day! Yeah!!! I had an appointment with Satoko at 1pm, so till then, I went out for a walk withProf. Tsu-BOI in the morning.

それは、コンスタンティヌス大帝の城壁（Konstantin Suru)。やはり古代ローマに憧れを持っていた（最近遺跡に飽きているワシ）のでこれは見ておかないと。昨日行きそびれたテオドシウスの城壁と違い、こちらは海岸沿いで宿から割かし近くにあるので。

Our plan was going to the wall of Constantine the Great (Konstantin Suru). Actually I am bored with any ruins / ancient monuments but since I was young, I had been facinated with Roman Empire. In order to fulfill the desire I had when I was younger, I must visit there. Unlike the wall of Theodocius, it was close to the hostel.

宿から東に向かうと、やはりアヤソフィアの荘厳な姿に心が打たれます。

We walked to the east from the hostel. Then as usual the mighty Ayasofia greeted us.

その向かいのブルーモスクにも。

The oppsite side, Blue Mosque also shined with its beauty.

そのまま東に向かったら、トプカプ宮殿の入り口が見えてきます。ここはコンスタンティノープルを征服したメフメト2世以降歴代のオスマン朝のスルタンが住んだ宮殿。

We continued to walk towards east. Then we came to the entrance of Topkap Palace, where was the palace of Sultans of Ottman Empire since Mehmed II the conqueror.

宮殿内に入るのには25リラ（1,100円くらい）します。今日は時間が無いので割愛。で、そのまま東に向かうと海が見えるのですが、宮殿に遮られて進めない。

It costs 25TRY (US$14). As we did not much time till the appointment, so we skipped the palace and continued to east. But we could not find any path to east...

ちょっと戻り、小路を通って海に向かいます。

So we returned a bit and found a path to the sea.

これがコンスタンティヌス大帝の城壁。300年代に造られた城壁です。

Then we met the wall of Constantine the Great. This was build in 4th century.

海側なので壁は一重なんです。1204年の第4回十字軍によりコンスタンチノープルは海側から破られ陥落しているのです。

Unlike Theodocius' (triple layered), this wall is single layered as it was built along the coast.

それにしても1700年前の城壁がこの大都市に残っているのは、驚きですねぇ。

I was amazed to see the wall build around 1,700 years ago in such a busy and large city.

歩いているうちに気温はグングン上がり、このままでは干上がってしまいます。一旦宿に戻り、サトコちゃんの到着を待ちます。

As we walked, the temp went up higher and higher. We will be dried up if we continued. So we returned to the hostel and waited for Satoko.

1時にサトコちゃんが来たので、昼飯でも、と街を歩きますが、庶民的な食堂は日曜日だからか閉まっています。ふむ。あとは観光客相手の店かお高い万円の店くらいしか目に付かないのですが、グランド・バザール付近の店で昼食。ワシはトルコ風ピザのパイド(Pide）を。9リラもしましたが、美味い!

Satoko came around 1pm and we went out for lunch. But it was sunday!! We could not find any cheap eat... Only we could find were those touristic ones or expensive ones... Finally we found one nearby Grand Bazaar and I had a pide. It cost 9TRY (little expensive...) but it was excellent.

そして宿に戻り、サトコちゃんも交えて歓談。この先の下調べをしたりと、つボイ先生の面白さが爆発したりと。

Then we went back to the hostel and chat till 7pm or so.

で、夕飯はもちろんシェア飯。今日はイカと大根の煮付け（おでん風）、ゲソの唐揚、ゴマ豆腐、そしてサラダの豪華ディナー!!　つボイ先生も大はしゃぎ!!!　いただきまーーす!!!　キョウさん、ご馳走様でした!!!

Then as usual, we had "Share Dinner"!! Just for 3.5TRY we had a great banquet! Look at Prof. Tsu-BOI.HOw happy he was to see the banquet!!

トルコはイスラム教国ですが、西洋と同じで日曜日が休みなんです（普通は金曜日）。まぁ、EUに入りたいと、結構必死なんですかね。
