今日はアルテ・ピナコテーク(Alte Pinakothek=古美術館）に行っていました。

Today I visited Alte Pinakothek = Old Art Gallery.

マリエン・プラッツ(Marienplatz)駅で下車し、先ずは郵便局へ。南米の地図や写真を焼いたDVDを日本へ送ります。

I got off a train at Marenplatz and went to a Post Office first to send the used maps (South America) and DVDs (photos) to Japan.

今日も天気がいいので新市庁舎（Neues Rathaus)が映えます。

The new town hall （Neues Rathaus) looked stunning with the blue sky.

















ミュンヘンには3つの美術館、Alte（古）、Neue(新）そしてModerne（モダン）があるんですが、3つも見ると高いですし、疲れてしまうのでAlte（古）だけを見学。

In Munich, there are 3 ar galleries. Alte = Old, Neue = New and Moderne = Modern. It would be expensive and iring to visit 3 of them, so I decided to visit ony "Old".

バイエルン王家ヴィッテルスバッハ家所蔵の15-18世紀の名画が展示されています。ルートヴィヒ1世が所蔵の名画を万人にも見れるように1836年に創立したそうです。

The old art gallery "Alte Pinakothek" was built by Ludwig I in 1836. He said that all the arts should be available to pubic eyes! The gallery has the collections of paintings from 15 to 18th century.

ブリューゲル（Brueghel）父子やヴァン・ダイク（Anthony van Dyck）といった世界史で学んだ画家の絵画がこの目で見られるので心躍らせてイザ入館!!　入館料は7ユーロです。

I heard there were paintings of Brueghel (senior and junior) and Anthony van Dyck, whom I learnt in World History during my school. So I was very excited to see their paintings. The entrance was 7 Euros.

15-17世紀の絵画の殆どは宗教画ですが、この絵が面白い。

Tere were lots of religeous paintings from 15th to 17th century. But I found a very interesting picture.























神官(?)の頭が切れてます（血まで出ている!）。ユーモアなのか風刺なのか??　

The head of Priest (?) was choped off (he is bleeding too!)!! I wasn't sure if it was humour or a satire.

















ヴァン・ダイク作のキリスト受難はイイ感じ。

This "Passion" by van Dyck, I like very much.























その他には17世紀の一般市民を描いた作品が面白い。現代にも通じるものがありますね。表情がいい。

Also those paitings about daily lives of 17th century were very interesting. Those expressions people were making at that time were the same as those of today.







































ブリューゲル父子の作品、そしてバロックの大家ルーベンスの作品ははなんだか期待したほどでもない。グッと来なかったですね。

Those paintings by Brueghel (senior and junior) and Peter Paul Rubens were not really my taste, unfortunately.

















この絵のハムがすごく美味そう。銀器などもすごく写実的で本物に見えます（よね?）。

The ham in this paiting looked so delicious! Tose silver wares looked real as well.

















暗がりの中での明かりを上手く描いた作品。本当にそこに明かりがあるみたい。

There were paintings depicting the lights in the dark so well. It looked like the light was actually "there".


































フランソワ・ブーシェ（François Boucher）作ポンパドゥール婦人（Madame de Pompadour)。フランス王ルイ15世の愛妾で権勢を誇った夫人。流石に豪奢ですね。

The portrait of Madame de Pompadour by François Boucher. She was a lover of Franch Ling Luis XV and she was the most powerful person in France at that time. No wonder her appearance was so gorgeous.























こんなオジさん街にいますよね。

ってな感じで結構楽しかったですよ。

I enjoyed the art gallery.

外に出てケバブで軽く昼飯を済ませて、アウトドアショップ「Darr」で買い物。電気湯沸しコイル（車やバイクのシガーソケット電源用）や携帯用小型ボトル（調味料や油を入れるため）を購入。これでヨーロッパの旅の準備は整いました。

I had a kebab for lunch and walked to "Darr" the outdoor store. I bouht a water heating coil (it can get power from a cigar socket of a car or a motorcycle) and little bottles to pt cooking oil and sauces. Now I am ready to travel around Europe.

今日は天気も良かったですが、暑かった。家に帰り昼寝。夜はイナと夕食を食べながら歓談。

It was really fine day and was hot. So after I went home, I had a nap. I had dinner with Ina and talked fora  while.

明日はイギリス庭園の閑松庵でお茶会があるので訪ねてみたいと思います。

Tomorrow there will be pulic tea ceremony at Japaese Tea house i English Garden. I would like to join it.

Day 652: 2012年5月10日

今日は朝からダークがアウグスブルクのディーラーに連れて行ってくれました。もちろんエスペランサを迎えに行くためです。

From the morning, Dirk took me to the workshop in Augsburg. Of course, we were going to pick up Esperanza.

12時前に到着。6万キロサービス、右シリンダーヘッド交換、新しいエンジンバーの取り付け、リア・マッドガード取り付け、タイヤ交換、リア・ブレーキパッド交換、ネジ類の交換などなど。

We got there just before 12 noon. 60,000km service, replacement of the right cylinder head cover, fitting of a new engine bar, fitting of a rear mudguard, replacement of both tyres, replacement of the rear brake pad, replacement of bolts and nuts etc...

















交換したシリンダーヘッドとツーラテック製エンジンバー。シリンダーヘッドは中古で傷が入ってますが、使用上の問題は全くありません。新品は150ユーロですが中古なので25ユーロで!

Luckily they had a second hand cylinder head at the workshop. It has some scratches, but it works just fine. A brand-new one would cost 150 Euros, but this 2nd hand one cost me 25 Euros. A bargain. A Touatech engine bar was fitted too.

















リア・マッドガードも中古を取り付けてくれました。迷彩色がなかなかお洒落!? タイヤは前後ともメッツェラーのトゥーランス EXPです。

Also a 2nd hand rear mudguard was fitted. The camo pattern would make Esperanza more attractive!? The new tyres fitted - Metzeler Tourance EXP.

















なんとリア・ホイールのスポークが一本破損していたそうです。それも交換してくれました。

The mechanic Willy told me that one of rear wheel sporks was broken and it was replaced. 

前後のタイヤと交換パーツ、そして工賃で850ユーロ（1,100米ドル）。高いですがこれでヨーロッパを気持ちよく走れます。なんとパーツは全て10%値引きしてくれました。ありがとう!!

With 2 new tyres, all the parts replaced and labour, the bill was 850 Euros (US$1,100). It was expensive jobs but I couldride around Europe with more confidence. They gave me 10% discount for all parts.

久しぶりにエスペランサに乗ります。タイヤがロード向きになったせいもありますが、エンジンオイル、トランスミッションオイル、そしてファイナルドライブオイルを交換したので走りがとてもスムース。エスペランサも喜んでいるのが走っていてわかります。

I had not ridden on Esperanza for a while. But I noticed the difference immediately. She runs more smoothly now. I reckon it would be because of more road oriented tyres fitted but also engine, transmission and final drive oil were replaced. I could feel she was happier now.

ミュンヘンに戻る前にデレックの親友カリさんの家で珈琲ブレイク。デレックとカリさんはケープタウンまで一緒にバイクで走った間柄。BMW R1200GS AdventureとBMW R100GSがガレージに。

Before we were going back to Munich, we made a short stop at Kari's place - the best friend of Dirk. They rode together down to South Africa on BMW R1200GS Adventure 5 years ago. In his garage, there were BMW R1200GS Adventure and R100GS. 

















なんと、カリさんにオルトリーブ（Ortlieb)のラックパック（Rack Pack)49リットルを頂いちゃいました!! 南米を走っているときからこれ欲しかったんですよね。昨日もマルクスとアウトドア屋に見に行って値段を調べたんです（65ユーロでした）。これでますます旅が快適になります。

Kari gave me Ortlieb Pack Pack 49Litre!! I was thining to get a new one. I even checked price of it yesterday with Markus (it was 65 Euros). Thanks so much Kari!!

















「バイクの旅の次は車で!」と、デレックとトヨタ・ランドクルーザーを購入したそうです。ワシもこれ欲しいです。

"Next trip will be with a car!" Dirk and Kari bought a TOYOTA Landcruiser. I want to own one in the future too.


















カリさんに別れを告げて、一路ツーラテックまで。GPS用のヨーロッパ全域地図を購入。90ユーロ。これで都市部で迷子にならずに済みます。

We said good-bye to Kari and went to Touratech. There I picked up a GPS map covering entire Europe. It was 90 Euros. Now I can navigate through Europe! 


















4時前に家に戻り、デレックは仕事があるので一旦別れます。そして夜はローラ、イナ、デレックとワシで夕食。デレックは明日から月曜日までベルリンなので、会えるのは今日が最後。色々とお世話になりました。サッカーの試合楽しんで!!

I came hom just before 4pm. Dirk needed to go back to his work. Then in the evening, I had dinner with Laura, Ina and Dirk together. As Dirk has to go to Berlin tomorrow and will not be back till monday, I said good-bye to him. Thanks so much, Dirk!! Have fun at the fotball match!

今日はマルクスがBMW Group Classicを案内してくれました。

Today Markus took me to BMW Group Classic.

BMW WeltとBMW Museumを訪れる観光客は多いでしょうが、BMW Group Classic??って感じですよね。ワシもその存在を知りませんでした。

Man tourists may visit BMW Welt and BMW Museum, but not many people know about BMW Group Classic. I did not know about it either. So I was wonderig what it was?? So let's check it out!

地下鉄U2線をDulferstrasse駅で下車すると、そこはほぼBMW社の敷地です。この間訪れたBMWの本社には工場を含めて9千人の社員が、そして今日訪れたデザイン・開発部門には8千人の社員が働いているとのこと。

We took a subway U2 line and got off at Dulferstrasse Staton. Almost the entire area is occupied by BMW Group. Markus told me that at the headquarter (including the factory) I visited last week, there were 9,000 employees, and the area I visisted today was mainly for design, research & deveopement divisions, there were 8000 employees! 


















世界有数の風洞施設（Wind Tunnel)もあります。マルクスが教えてくれたのですが、その風洞施設と道を挟んだ向かい側に、売春宿があるんです。BMWはその土地を改修したいそうですが、売春宿のオーナーは立退きを拒んでいるそうです。世界最先端の技術の横に世界最古の職業。これは面白いコンビですね。

There was a state of art wind tunnel - one of the best in the world, but a the opposite side of the street, there was a brothel!! BMW would like to purchase the land there, but the owner of the brothel does not move away. It was a very strange combination of the hi-tech and the oldest profession in the world!


































で、BMW Group Classicとは。一言で表すのは難しいのですが、BMWイベントのブランド（Miniやロールス・ロイスなどを含む）の全てのモデルのデータを管理したり、クラシックモデルやレース車の保存・修復をしたり、企業やクラブのイベントに会場を提供したり、と多岐にわたる活動をしているようです。ちょっとした過去の名車博物館的な役割を果たしていますが、基本的に全ての保管されている車やバイクは実働可能状態です。アメリカのチノにある航空博物館「Planes of Fame」とその点は似てますね。

So what is BMW Group Classic? It would be hard to discribe it in a word. It manages and stores data for all models of BMW brand (including Mini, R&R etc), provides preservation and restoration works for classic cars and racing models, provides the venue and tours for corporates and clubs, and so on. Wide range of activities it operates. It serves as a museum of histrical vehicles, but almost of of them are kept in running condition. I this respect it is similar to the "Planes of Fame" Air Museum in Chino, the United States.

普段は個人的に訪れる人はいないのですが、今日はマルクスの特別の計らいで個人ツアーです！なんと光栄なことでしょう。窓ガラスからパリダカで使用された名車が見れます。

Usually there would not be any individual visitor here, but Markus made a special arrangement for me!! How honoured I was!  He took me for a personal tour. There were those ralley models at the show window.


















そしてイゼッタ!!　これ欲しい。次回の世界一周はバイクでなくてイゼッタで周る、ってのもありですね。

BMW Isetta!! I would like to own one. It would be a god idea to go around the world wih a Isetta.

BMWが最初に作った車の1つです。BMW3。まだBMW特有のキドニーグリルはありません。マルクスが教えてくれたのですが、よーく見るとおかしなことに気が付きます。

BMW 3 was one of the earliest carBMW produced. The kidney grill - one of the BMW distictive design - was not employed at thistime yet.  Markus told me that there was something unusual about this car.

それは「BMW」のエンブレムの白と青の色が普段と逆になっていること。

The colour of he BMW logo was different from the usual. Usually under "B" it would be blue.

ちなみに白と青のエンブレムはバイエルン王国の旗がモチーフなんです。もともと飛行機エンジンメーカーだったので、回転するプロペラをデザインしたもの、とワシも思っていましたが、それは都市伝説だそうです。

By the way, many people think the BMW logo was inspired from a turning propeller as BMW started as an airplane engine manufacture (I thought so too), but in fact it was from the Babarian national flag!

この車はBMW特有のキドニーグリルがありますね。流れるようなフォルムが素晴らしい。

This car has the kidney grill. I like its form - those curves could only be done by hand crafts.


















ここの部屋の車とバイクはわざと修復しないでオリジナルの状態で保管されています。この車のオーナーはドイツ系ルーマニア人の方が25歳の誕生日に新車で購入したそうです。ヨーロッパ中を駆け巡ったとか。
その後ドイツが戦争に敗れ、ルーマニアは共産圏になり、ドイツ系である彼は迫害されたそうです。意を決して1969年に家財道具一式を積んで西側に亡命。ずっとガレージに保管されていましたが、近年BMWに寄付されたそうです。すごい歴史がある一台ですね。

Then we went to another room. Those vehicle in the room were deliberately not restored. They were kept in their original condition. The car shown on the photo had a great story behind - it was purchased brand-new by a German Romanian for his 25th birthday. He drove the car many places around Europe.

Then Germany was defeated in WWII and Romania became the member of the Soviet block. As he had the German background, he was discriminated in the Communist regime. In 1969, he took his chance and exiled to the west with this car - full of household stuffs. He lept the car in his garage for many years, but in recent year, he donated the car to BMW. What a story.


















そしてバイクです。BMWは当初「Victoria」というメイカーにエンジンを提供していたそうです。モデル名はKR-1。

Then we went to the motorcycle section. BMW was providing engines to a motorcycle manufacture called "Victoria". The bike shown in the photo was KR-1.


















BMW特有のボクサーエンジン(M2B15 494cc 6.5馬力)ですが、何か普段と違いますね。

It had a 494 cc BMW twin-cylinder side-valve flat twin (M2B15 boxer engine). But something was different from usual BMW construction.











お分かりですか?　

You guessed it right!

それはエンジンが縦置きになっているんです!!　なので空冷フィンの刻み方がシリンダーヘッドから付け根側に刻んであります。もちろん、後ろのピストンは冷えにくい…。

The engine was mounted longitudinally in the motorcycle frame rather than laterally!! The engine produced 6.5 bhp (4.8 kW) and transmission was via a two-speed gearbox. So the cooling fins were made in different direction to those other BMW boxer engines. Of course the rear piston had cooling problems...  

駆動はベルト製（ゴム製??）でブレーキは木製です（木に革が巻いてあったとのこと）!!

It had a belt final drive (made with rubber??) and had a wooden rear brake (it was covered with leather)!! 


















そしてBMWが初めて独自開発したR32。先ほどのVictoriaと同じエンジンです。だから空冷フィンはまだシリンダーヘッドから付け根側に刻んであるまま。
    
The BMW R32 was the first motorcycle produced by BMW under the BMW name. It had the same M2B15 engine as Victoria KR-1. So the cooling fins were the same.

BMW R12。このモデル以前はイタバネ（Leaf spring)サスペンションだったのですが、これはフロントフォークにオイルダンパーを備えている画期的なモデル。

All the models before this BMW R12 had the leaf spring front suspension, but this was the world first production motorcycle to have an oil dumper telescopic front fork.

















レース仕様のマシーンもあります。

The were many racing machines too.

















第2次大戦後、BMWの工場が合ったアイゼナハー（Eisenacher)は東ドイツに組み込まれたため、工場だけでなく、設計図や技術者も失ってしまいました。
BMWは過去に生産されたバイクをばらして、寸法を測り、新しいバイクを生産したそうです。手前のR23が戦前に生産されたもの。その向こうにあるのが戦後に生産されたものです。

After WWII, BMW lost its motorcycle factory as it was located in Eisenacher - East Germany. They lost all blue prints and technicians as well. BMW disassemble their motorcyles and measured each parts to produce new motorcycles. In the photo, the R23 in front was produced pre-WWII, and another one in the back was produced post-WWII.

細部は異なりますが、ほぼ同じですね。ブレーキとクラッチレバーの取り付けが、戦前のモデルと戦後では違うことに注目です。

There were some differences in detail but they were basically identical. One thing could be seen very easily was that they were different in brake and clutch levers mounting.

その鮮烈なデザインから「デビューが早すぎた」と言われるK1のプロトタイプ。

これは珍しいBMWのスクーター。試作品ですがお洒落ですね。しかし生産にはいたらなかったそうです。残念。

This was rear - a prototype of BMW scooter. I like the desin. But it did not make to production.














自転車まであります。これも試作品で生産にはいたらなかった…。

ベルが左ハンドルと一体になっていてお洒落。

The ring bell was integrated with the left handle grip. A cool design, I like it.


















BMW F650GS Dakar。2003年に半年ぐらいバイクから車に乗り換えたのですが、このバイクを見てバイクの世界に戻ってきたんです。結局買ったのはYAMAHA FZ1 (Fazer 1000)でしたが。

なんとバイクのボクサーエンジンが積んであります。冷却ファンで強制空冷。これいいなぁ。

It was powered by a motorcycle boxer twin engine! Cooling fam was added for better cooling. I want to have one...













市場には殆ど出回っていない名車とか、

There were cars rarely seen on the street and the market.


































ミュンヘン・オリンピックで使用された電気自動車とか、

This orange BMW was used for Munich Olympic games. Electric powered!!

昼飯を食べて、珈琲を飲んでしばらく休憩。

We went back to the city and had lunch and coffee.
















午後はマルクスの愛犬「ウィルマ」ちゃんを連れてイギリス庭園へ。バーニーウィルマちゃんはなんと17歳と6ヶ月の高齢犬。愛されていますねぇ。

In the afternoon, we went to English Garden with his beloved "Wilma". She is 17 years and half old!













イギリス庭園を散歩し気が付いたらもう7時過ぎ!!!　マルクスが家まで送ってくれました。いやぁ、本当に楽しい1日を過ごせました。マルクス、ありがとう。Danke!!

We walked around English Garden and it was already 7pm!! I really had a great time. Thank you Markus. Dunke Dunke!!

今日は早起きしてドイツ博物館の航空館(Flugwerft Schleissheim)に行ってきました。電車でOberschleissheim駅まで。片道約1時間。

I got up early this morning and visited the airplane division of Deutches Museum "Flugwerft Schleissheim". I caught a train and got off at Oberschleissheim station. It took me one hour to get there.

駅からしばらく歩きます。昨日デレックが言っていた城「シュロッス・アンラゲ(Schlossanlage)」を横切り、森の中を歩いていくと、ありました、航空館です。

I needed to walk quite a bit from the station to the museum. I walked across the castle which Derek mentioned yesterday "Schilossanlage". Then the museum was located in the forest.


















入館料は昨日ドイツ博物館の本館で無料チケットをもらったので無料!　中にはクラシックな飛行機や、

I got a free admission thanks to the lady at the main museum. There were many classic airplanes...

ポルシェ製の飛行機フラミンゴ（Flamingo)まで!!

ポルシェが飛行機を製作してたなんて知りませんでした。80年代から始めたそうです。しかし、思ったよりも売れなくて90年代には生産終了・・・。

I did not know Porsche was making airplane. They started to make airplanes in 80s, but they stopped making in 90s as the sales did not take off....


写真はカレラ911に載せられていた水平対向6汽筒エンジンをベースにした飛行機用エンジン。

This was the engine used for Flamingo: the engine was midified version of the one used for Carerra 911.


















「鳥人間コンテスト」を髣髴させてくれますが、このグライダーは19世紀の終わりの世界記録をたたき出したそうです。

The glider below reminded me of "Birdman contest" in Japan, but the inventor / pilot was holding the longest flight distance in 19th century.


















ライト兄弟の飛行機の改良版のモデル。

This was the model of an airplane made by Wright brothers.

















廊下を挟んで別棟には近現代の飛行機が。

At the another side of the museum, there were modern airplanes were displayed.



















そしてエンジンたち。BMW132A星型エンジン。

Then there were many airplane engines!! BMW132 Radial engine.


















これにはビックリなのは、ダイムラー・ベンツ DB610!! なんとDB605を2つくっ付けたというとんでもないエンジン。71.4リッター24汽筒で2,950馬力を発揮します。1,530キログラムの重量。
What made me surprised was Daimler Benz DB610!! There were two DB605 V12 engines combined into one!! The displacement was 71.5Litre 24 cylinders and it produced 2,950PS. It weighted 1,530kg.



































あとはBMW 803エンジン。星型複列水冷エンジンです。85.5リッター28汽筒で4,000馬力を発揮します。4,130キログラムの重量。

Another one surprised me was BMW 803 engine. It was a radial air-cooled engine. The displacement was 85.5Litre 28 cylinders and it produced 4,000PS. It weighed 4,130kg.

残念ながら第二次大戦機は展示されていませんでしたが、ユーロファイターがワシの目を惹きました。マッハ2で飛行可能!!

Unfortunately there wasn'T any WWII fighter, but what caught my eyes was, Eurofighter! It could fly at mach 2.0!!


















そして東ドイツ時代には、ロシア製Mig 23も使用してました。

Then Russian made Mig 23. They were used in East Germany.














本館とは違い規模が小さいので1時間で見学終了。

As it was much smaller than the main museum inthe city, I completed te tour in an hour.

さて、今度はシュロッス・アンラゲ城を見学です。建物内に入るには4.5ユーロ必要。庭園は無料。

Then I visited Schlossanlage. Entering the palace building cost 4.5 Euros but just visiting the garden was free.


















室内は絵画が所狭しと掲げてあります。

Inside the palace, there were many paintings on the walls, everywhere.



















日本製の壷も。

There were some Japanese porcelain vases.























なんていう石材ですかね。ピンク色が映えます。

The pink stone was used for pillers. Nice.


















石細工を凝らした部屋なども。

There was a room filled with beautiful stone crafts.


















いろんな絵画がありましたが、これが一番のお気に入り。ニャあーー!!

There were many painting but this was my favorite! Miau!


















庭園に出ると、天気も良くてイイ感じ。ヒツジも楽しそう。

Once step outside the building, there was a beautiful garden. The weather was excellent, so Mr. Sheep was very happy.

















































時計を見たらまだ1時半ですし、天気もいいのでニンフェンブルク宮殿(Schloss Nymphenburg)に行って見ました。電車で市内までもどり、路面電車でSchloss Nymphenburg駅まで。

It was around 1:30pm, when I fisnished exploring the castle. So I decided to pay a visit to another castle (palace) "Schloss Nymphenburg". I caught a train back to the city and caught a tram to the palace.

ドイツ語のSchlossは「城」と訳されるんですが、上記のアンラゲもニンフェンブルクもどう見たって宮殿なんですね。まぁ、どっちでもいいですが。この間デレックが車で連れてきてくれたとき日記に書きましたが、ここはバイエルン王家の夏の離宮だったそうです。白鳥やガチョウが池にいてその向こうに宮殿。なかなかの景観です。


"Schloss" in German can be translated to "Castle" in English. But to me noth Schlossanlage" and "Schloss Nymphemburg" were "palace" rather than "castle". It does not matter anyway. It was a summer palace of Wittelsbach - Babarian kings.







本殿は外から見るとこんな感じ。

The main palace looked like this from outside.

















入館料は6ユーロ。庭園は無料なので、今回は庭園だけ見て廻ることに。庭園から見た本殿はこんな感じ。アンラゲよりも造りがしっかりしているような印象を受けます。

The entrance cost 6 Euros, but again just visiting the garden wasfree admission, so this time I explored the garden. The palace looked more solid than another palace.


















庭にはギリシア神話の神々の像が飾られています。これはポセイドンかな?

There were statues of Grek Gods and Godesses in the garden. I guess this was Poseidon.

敷地は広く、歩き回っているうちに1時間はとっくに経ってしまいました。手入れだけでも大変でしょうねぇ。

The garden was so huge. I was walking around and 1 hour had past easily. I imagined that just maintaining the garden would require lots of efforts.











まぁ、航空博物館と城（宮殿）を2つ見てきたわけですが、感じるのはバイエルン王家の「富」ですね。。第二次世界大戦後、王を退位したヴィッテルスバッハ家は市にこれらの宮殿や絵画などの所蔵品を寄付したそうです。退位して税収が無くなったので維持できないのが理由でしょうが。今ではミュンヘン市が管理しているわけですけども、維持に税金が使われているわけです。市民の憩いの場、そして観光名所となっているのでプラスの面のほうが多いのでしょうけれども。

Today I visited the museum and 2 palaces. What I felt was the wealth of House of Wittelsbach. After WWII, the family stepped down from the throne and they donated those palaces and art collections to the city of Munich. The main reason of the donation would be the financial burden to maintain those after losing their tax revenue. Now the city of Munich is managing those places and colletions and it is using the tax payers money to maintain them. But the residents are utilising those palaces for their leisure activities, and of course they are the main tourist attractions of the city. So I guess those heritages from the kings are positive things for people of Munich.

Day 649: 2012年5月7日

Munich (La Casa de Laura)

昨晩のキミ君とタクヤによる小学校でのプレゼンテーションは大成功でした。ワシもスカイプで10分位お邪魔させていただき、子供たちの質問に答えさせていただきました。自分が旅で得たものをこうして社会に還元できる、とは本当に素晴らしいことですし、この機会を与えてくれたキミ君とタクヤ、そして学校の先生と児童たちに感謝です。

The presentation at the primary school by Kimi and Takuya went very well. I joined them via Slype for 10mins or so and I could have some interractions with those students. It was a great opportunity to share the experiences I have acquired during this trip to those young kids. I really thank Kimi, Takuya, the teacher and the kids who provided me such an experience.

日本時間の9時スタートでワシの出番が終わったのは9時半過ぎ。なのでドイツでは夜中の2時半過ぎ。なので今日は朝はゆっくりと。天気は、曇りがちですが晴れ間も時たま。

It started at 9am Japan time and my appearance was ended after 9:30am. Which means it was 2:30am in German time. So I slept in this morning. It was cloudy but there were some blue sky time to time.

昼頃になってドイツ博物館に出かけてみました。かなり広く内容も濃いので午後だけでは足りないかな?なんて思いましたが、とりあえず行って見ました。電車でイーザルトール(Isartor)駅下車。

I went to Deutshes Museum after lunch time. I heard that it's huge and has lots of exhibitions, so it would not be enough to go through in a day, but I went there in the afternoon. Do I have enough time?? Anyway, I got off the train at Isartor station.

イーザル川の中洲に博物館はあります。なかなかの構え。

Duetsches Musem is located on an island of Isar river. It looks really huge.

















入館料は8.50ユーロ。ミュンヘン郊外にクラシックカー博物館と航空博物館もあり、セットで買うと15ユーロ。セットを買おうとしたら、受付のお姐さんが「本当に3つ行くの?」と。「多分ここ本館と航空博物館だけ」と答えると、「だったら15ユーロ払う必要ないわ。8.5ユーロであとはフリーチケット付けてあげる。」と!!　なんて親切なんでしょう。ありがとう。

The entrance cost 8.50 Euros. There are an airplane division and a classic automobile division located elsewhere in Munich. The combine ticket would cost 15 Euros and I was about buy it, the lady at the ticket office asked me "Are you intended to visit all 3 musuems?". I replied "No I am visiting here and the airplane museum only." Then she said "So you don't need to buy a combine ticket. You pay 8.50 Euro for this museum and I give you a free ticket for another one!" How kind of her!! Danke!!

そして飛行機!! 第二次大戦中ドイツ軍ジェット戦闘機メッサーシュミット Me262(Messerschmitt Me 262)です。

Then my favorites - airplanes!! Messerschmitt Me 262, one of the first jet airplane during WWII.

星型エンジン!! その他にも沢山飛行機に使われたエンジンが展示されていました。

A radial engine!! There were more engines used for airplanes were displayed.

















倒立V12エンジン。ダイムラーベンツ(Daimler Benz)のDB601!! このエンジンは先ほどのメッサーシュミット Bf109に搭載されていました。

タコではありません。9汽筒星型エンジンのコンロッド。マスターコンロッドは軸に固定されています。

It's not an octopus. It's the connecting rods of a radial engine. The master connection rod is fixed to the axle.


















そしてプラット&ホイットニー（Pratt&Whitney)のワスプ・メジャー (Wasp Major)。71.5リットルで3,295馬力です。

印刷技術のコーナー。そうです、ドイツといえばグーテンベルクの活版印刷ですね。

The developement of printerng technologies. "Letterpress printing of Gutenberg" was the first letterpress printing techonology widely available to public.

And of course, the development of beer brewing technologies!

































「世界不思議発見」でも紹介してましたが（いつの話だよ）。ビールは古代メソポタミアやエジプトで発明されたんですね。

Beer was invented in Ancient Middle East (esopotaia) and Egypt.

















他にも鉱山開発、冶金技術、音楽、力学などなど科学と技術に関するありとあらゆることを網羅しています。5時の閉館までいましたが、なかなか全部は見れません。最後は駆け足で見て廻る、って感じでした。

There were Minings, Welding & Soldering, Forging metals, Music instruments etc... anything to do with technologies and science were covered. I stayed until 5pm - close time - but in the end I needed to rush!!

屋上からの眺めも素晴らしい。

The view from the top was good too.

















家に戻ったのは6時前。堪能しましたが、結構疲れましたね。

I got home before 6pm. I really enjoyed but I was very tired. 

















イナは今夜遅くなるとのことで、ローラが夕飯を作りに来てくれました。デレックもやってきて一緒に夕食。デレックがバイク屋に連絡してくれて、木曜日に取りにいけることになりました。ありがとう、デレック。

Ina had an appointment with her friends and would be home late, so Laura came to prepare dinner for me. Derek also came by and we had dinner and talk together. He contacted the workshop and found out Esperanza would be ready by thursday. So he will take me to the workshop in thursday to pick her up! Danke, Derek!!

そんなこんなで今日も充実した1日になりました。明日は航空博物館に行ってきます。そうだ、デレックが言ってましたが、航空博物館の近くにも素晴らしいお城があるそうで、出来れば訪れたいと思います。

It was a good day again. Tomorrow I will visit the airplanedvision of Deutsches Musuem. Oh, Derek told me there is a casstle nearby the musuem, so I might pay a visit there too.
