Day 630: 2012年4月18日

Clonia del Sacramento  - Urguay to Buenos Aires - Argentina (Dakar Motosl)
61, 274km to 61,296km =22 km (1km Uruguay side / 21km Argentina side)

朝食後アレックスに別れを告げて、港へ。出国手続きが手間取るといけないので、早めに到着（8時半）。エスペランサをフェリー乗り場手前に駐車して、チェックインをしに。しかし、チェックインはまだ時間が早すぎて出来ず、結局9時以降までロビーで待機。

After having breakfast, I said good-bye to Alex and left the hostel. I went to the port early (8:30am) as I thought I might take time to go through immigration and custom. I parked Esperanza in front of the ferry pier and went to the building to check-in. But it was still too early for checking-in, so I waited there till after 9am...

















チェックイン後、出国手続き。アルゼンチンの入国手続きも一緒のカウンターで。これにはちょっとビックリ。しかし、車両一時輸入許可のキャンセルは後ほど、ということで。

After checking-in, I went through immigration process. At the same counter, I could exit out Urguay and enter Argentina! That'S very efficient!! They told me I should cancel the temporary vehicle import later.

2階の待合場で10時ごろまで待ち、そしてフェリー乗り場まで行きます。ここで係り員がやってきて一時輸入許可をキャンセル（書類を手渡すだけ）。フェリーに乗り込みます。

I waited at the waiting room upstairs untill 10am. The finally gate was open and I went to the pier. An officercame and I handed i the temporary import document and it was done. I rode into the ferry.

















窓際の席は既に埋まっていたので、真ん中の席を。10時半丁度に出航し、1時間船に揺られます。レアル・マドリッドとミュンヘンのチームの試合が放映されていたので、それを鑑賞。対岸は見えません。

I wanted to take a window side seat but they were all taken, so I took one in the middle. The ferry left he pier exactly at 10:30am and cruised to another side of the river for 1 hour. I watched a sucer match between Real Madrid and a team rom Munich.  I could not see the another side of the river.

















11時15分頃に、ようやくブエノス・アイレスの街が見えてきました。

Around 11:15am, finally I could see the city of Benos Aires.















そして11時半前に到着。船から出て直ぐに税関が有り、そこで一時輸入許可書を発行してもらいます。ちょっと待たされましたが問題なく発行してもらい、ブエノス・アイレスの街へ。

The ferry arrived just before 11:30am. I rode off the ferry and went to Custom. It took a while but I could get a temporary import permission without any problem. I rode into the city of Buenos Aires.

















流石、大都市。スゴイ交通量です。ブラジル、ウルグアイに比べて運転が荒いような気がします。GPSに従いダカール・モトスに直行します。12時半には到着。

As a big capital city, there were tons of toraffics. I felt that drivers in Brazil and Uruguay were better behaved. I went to Dakar Motos straight.

ハビエルとサンドラが出迎えてくれて、2ヶ月ぶりの再会です。丁度お昼休みに入るところなので、昼飯のデリバリーをついでに頼んでもらいました。

Javier and Sandra welcame me. It's been 2 months since I left to Paraguay. The were about to have a lunchbreak, and they ordered a lunch elivery for me too.

ダカール・モトスにはイギリス人ライダーがいました。他にカナダ人のカップルが宿泊していますが、バイクを空港に預けに行って留守とのこと。4人で昼飯を食べて、しばらく歓談。

At Dakar Motos there was another motorcyclist staying - Edward from UK. He told me a Canadian couple staying here to but they were out to the airport to leave their bikes. We had lunch together with Javier and Sandra and talked for a while.

そしてアメリカ人ライダーのクラークが到着。彼は近日中にバイクをアメリカに輸送するとのこと。

Then an American rider - Clark came in. He was to ship his bike back to the US in a few days.
 
4時過ぎに銀行で現金を引き出そうとしましたが(バイク輸送のために現金が必要なんです）、何故か今日の引き落とし限度額を超えている、となって全く引きおろせません。何軒か試しましたが、駄目です。うーん、口座が凍結されたか?と思い、ダカール・モトスに戻りオーストラリアの銀行にスカイプで電話。口座は問題ないとのこと。

After 4pm, I went out to withdraw some cash from ATMs (I need to pay in cash for shipping my bike). But somehow the ATMs stating I was exceeding my daily withdrawal limit.... I hadn't withdrawed any money today. I tried several banks but all the same result. I thougt my account was frozen, so I went back to Dakar Motos and skyped to my bank n Australia. But the operator said to me that m account was fine.

ハビエルとサンドラに相談すると、どうもここ1ヵ月で政府が外国に現金が流れるのを嫌って、どうもATMからの引き出しや、ペソをドルへ換金とかがしにくくなったそうです・・・。アルゼンチン政府、また破産するのか??

Javier andSandra told me that around a month ago, the government made it tough for foreigners to withdraw cash out of the ATMs. The government is afraid of foreigners taking cash outside of Argentina. Now it would be hard to exchange Pesos to US$... I wonder if the government of Argentina is facing bankruptcy again.

再び銀行に行って試しますが、やはり同じ結果。「Banelco」というシステムと「Link」というシステムがアルゼンチンにはあるんですが、今日行った銀行はみんな「Banelco」だったんですね。このシステムではワシのカードは使えないのかも・・・。

I went to a few banks again, but it was the same result. There are 2 networks of ATMs in Argentina - "Banelco" and "Link". The ATMs I used today were all under "Banelco". It looked like my card would not work with "Banelco" network. 

結局明日街中に出て「Link」システムのATMで試してみることにしました。今日はのんびりしようと思っていたのですが、結局1時間半くらい歩き回りました。

So I would go to the city and try to withdraw from "Link" ATMs. I thought I could have a relazing day, but I ended up walking for more than 1 1/2 hours.
