Day 330: 2011年6月19日

Piura to Chachapoyas (Hostel Continental)

今日は朝6時半に起きて出発の準備。7時過ぎには用意が出来ていたのですが、セキュリティー・パーキングが開いてません。仕方が無いのでしばらく待つことに。7時半に開いたので荷物を積んで出発です。タイヤが無いので軽い気がします。

ピウラの街を東に出ます。街を出てからガソリンスタンドがあるだろう、なんて思ってたらしばらく走っても無いので街外れまで引き返して給油。これが正解。それにしてもペルーのガソリンは高い。90オクタンが1ガロンで13－14ソルしますからね。

最初は曇っていたので涼しかったのですが、晴れ間に出ると流石に低地なので暑い暑い。オルモス（Olmos)という街まで一気に走ります。風景は単調。メキシコと同じように家とか壁に選挙の宣伝がペンキで書いてあります。特に最近大統領選があったので「KEIKO」が目に付きます。オルモスでまた給油。この先バグア・グランデ(Bagua Grande)まで街らしい街は無さそうです。

チクラヨ（Chiclayo)への分岐点を過ぎた辺りから山に入ります。ここから景色も良くなりました。谷間に沿って山間を抜けていきます。それにしてもペルー人は無茶な追い越しが多いです。対向車線にワシがいてもお構いなしに追越をかけてきます。しかもやたらとクラクションを鳴らします。エクアドル人と比べてペルー人はアグレッシブですね。

12時過ぎにとある小さな村で昼飯。牛肉を半乾燥させたのを焼いたのは美味かった。そうそう米が短くてもちもちしてるんです。これは日本人の口に合いますね。米といえばここから先は田んぼが広がってるんです。なんか東南アジアの風景を見ているようなきがします。

ChamayaにてJaenへの分岐点を過ぎたらアマゾナス州（Amazonas)に入ります。そうなんです、ここもアマゾンなんです。流石に暑いな！

バグア・グランデで給油したらスタンドのお兄さんが冷たいミネラルウォーターをくれました。ありがとう！　

ペドロ・ルイス(Pedoro Ruiz)にて右に曲がります。地図ではダートなのですがキレイに舗装されています。
ここから今日の目的地チャチャポヤス(Chachapoyas)まで53キロ。山をドンドン登っていきます。が、雨が降ってきました。結構降ってますが、濡れるほどではありません。しかし、明日クエラップ（Kuelap)に寄ってカハマルカ(Cajamarca)まで行く予定なのですが、ダートなんですね。雨でぬかるまないかな？

チャチャポヤスで宿探しに苦労。ガレージが無いんです。「ロビーに停めていいよ」というのですが、歩道が高くて上がれません…。無理して壊したくないですしね。

何軒か回ってHostal Continentalで宿にはガレージはないけれど7時半以降なら近くのセキュリティーパーキングに停められるとのこと。5時過ぎなのであと2時間半。それまで宿の前に停めて見張っていてくれることに。個室20ソル。まぁまぁですね。

夕飯はメルカドの外の露店で3.5ソル。インターネット・カフェは回線が遅くメールチェックのみ。7時半に近くのガレージへ。というかこのガレージ最初に見つけたホステルの横です。

さて明日はクエラップ遺跡めぐりです。あのマチュピチュと双璧をはるというプレ・インカ遺跡です。楽しみだなぁ。まだペルー2日目ですが、ペルーが好きなのか嫌いなのかわかりませんね。

Piura to Chachapoyas (Hostel Continental)

I got up early to get ready but the security parking wasn't open till 7:30am, so I waited.

I thought there would be some petrol stations outside of the city, but once I got out of the city, there was nothing! I rode for a while,but did not see any petrol station, so I turned back to the city and gased up.

It was clouded and was cool. But when it got clear, it got hotter! Till the town of Olmos, I rode without stopping. There was no nice scenery.
At Olmos, refueled and continued riding to the east. As same in Mexico, on the walls of the houses, adverts of those politicans I could see. Especially there was the Presidential election recently, I saw lots of "KEIKO".

After passing the junction to Chiclayo, the terrerian changed to mountainous. Now it's 2nd day in Peru, but I had been seeing so many agressive overtakings. Even though I was on the oppoisite lane, those drivers overtaking slow vehiles.　Very dangerous. Also Peruvians love to beep horns. COmparing to Ecuadorians, so far I feel Peruvians are more addressive.

I stopped at a small village for linch just after noon. Bistec, I guess, BBQed half dried beef was really tasty. Rice was good too. The grain was shorter like Japanese grain and it did taste more like Japanese rice, so I liked it.

Talking about rice, I could see rice paddies on the road side. The scenery changed dramatically from the desert to waterfull ri e paddies.

I refueled at Bagua Grande. It was really really hot day. And the caballelo at the petrol station gave me a bottle of chilled water! Muchas gracias!

Turned right at Pedoro Ruiz to Chachapoyas. From the map, it supposed to be a dirt road, but it was nicely paved.　Then started to claimbed up hill. Now I could say good-bye to hot weather. But it started to rain... Luckily it was not heavy to get wet.　I was afraid that the rain would make the dirt road to Kuelap - Cajamarca muddy...

Arrived Chachapoyas around 5pm. But it was hard to find a hostel with garage. After several attempt, I found Hostel Continental with a garage around the corner.

The private room with share bathroom cost 20 Soles. I had to wait till 7:30pm to put my GS into the garage, so the lady owner of the hostel was watching my GS parked outside of the reception.

The connection at the Internet Cafe was terrible. I could just check e-mails.

Tomorrow I will visit the ruin of Kuelap. It is said one of the most magnificent archiological site matching with Machupichu. Very very exiting to see that.
