今日は航空博覧会の日。しかし天気予報は、雷雨・・・。朝起きたらロンドンは曇り時々雨でした。

The day for Airshow in Farnborough! But the weather was really bad...

ルーシーに別れを告げて、電車に乗って長距離電車のターミナルであるウォータールー（Waterloo）駅まで。ここでカンとジェームスと待ち合わせです。

I said a good-bye to Lucy and took trains to Waterloo station to catch a long distance train to Farnborough. Kwuan and James were already there. 

行き先はファーンバラ(Farnborough）で9時9分発の電車の予定でしたが、遅延にキャンセル(?)で時刻表から姿を消しました。そんなに本数が多いわけでもないのに、かなりお粗末な感じです。おい、ロンドン、こんなことでオリンピック期間中やっていけるのか?

The train was scheduled at 9:09am but somehow it was delapyed and vanished from the display. Was it cancelled? We did not know as there was no any anouncement... I wondered how they would cope with volume of passengers during Olympic games...

仕方がないので、ポーツマス行きの電車で途中のウォーキング（Woking）まで行き乗り換えることに。電車でのワシ。

So we took a train to Portsmouth and got off at Woking, then took another one to Farnborough.

















まぁ、乗ってしまえば結構快適に速く目的地まで到着できるんですがね。ファーンバラに到着したのは10時前。ここからバスに乗り換えて会場である飛行場へ。結構念入りなセキュリティー・チェックを過ぎて、会場に乗り込みます。

Once we were o the trains it was pretty fast to get there. We arrived Farnborough before 10am. We took a free shuttle bus to the airfield. There was pretty tight security check before entering the airfield.

うーん、天気は悪い。

The weather was horrible...

















オメガ・タンカー（OMEGA Tanker）。

This is Omega Tanker. It looks like a normal comercial airplane, doesn't it?

















この飛行機は普通の旅客機に一瞬見えますが、実はある特殊任務を遂行するためにデザインされています。ヒントは、この写真。

But it has got special devices to do a very special task. Can you guess what it is? Clue is shown in the photos below.


































お分かりですか?　正解は空中給油。上の写真の部分から給油ホースが出て、戦闘機などを飛行中に給油するんです。なかなか難しい作業ですが、一度に2機給油できるんです。

It is arial refueling. Flexible refuel hose come out from the chambers and those aircrafts to be refuelled will catch the hoses to get fuel. It can refuel up to 2 fighters at a time. This method is called "Prove-and-drogue". Impressive.

それにしてもデカイ。ケツもデカイ。

It was really huge! It had a big ass too!






















ヴァージン・ギャラクティックの宇宙船。

The spacecraft of Virgin Galactic.























なかなか奇抜なデザインですね。これで本当に宇宙空間へ行けるのか?

It had an unique design. But I wondered if it could actualy reach the space.
























米軍の輸送機。戦車まで運べます。確か合衆国ネバダ州のリノの航空レース会場にもあったな。

An American Military cargo airplane. It can carry tanks!! I saw the same in Reno, Nevada.

そして、飛行機のアクロバット飛行ショー。ブライトリングのジェット飛行隊7機によるアクロバット飛行。

At 1:30pm, air performances took place. The photo shown wasthe performace done by Breitling jet team.


















なかなかの見ごたえです。

It was pretty good performance.

















その他にもF/A 18 スーパー・ホーネットやユーロファイター・タイフーンのアクロバット飛行、エアバス A380の飛行などありました。途中土砂降りになったりと結構大変でしたが、楽しめました。

There were acrobatic flights by Eurofighter Typhoon and F/A 18 Super Hornet, and special flight by A380 and Avro Vulcon.


















が、しかし、ワシの好きな大戦期の戦闘機が何処にもありません。これにはガッカリです。

However, there wasn't any WWII aircraft around. I was disappointed a bit.

5時に全てのプログラムが終了したので、ファーンバラの駅までバスで戻り、パブで夕飯。バンガーズ&マッシュを。

At 5pm, all the programmes ended and we went back to the station. We had dinner at a local pub.

















カンとジェームスとはここでお別れです。楽しかったよ!　また会おう!! I said a good-bye to Kwun and James, and went back to Guildford. See you guys later!!


















電車に乗ってギルフォードに戻り、マークとクレア宅へ。12時ごろまでロンドンでの出来事、アダムの近況などを歓談。

Back at Mark&Claire's place, we talked till late at night.

明日はパリに行く予定なんですが、どうも天気はかなり悪いらしいです。バスティーユ記念日なので行きたいのですけど、雨が強かったらもう1泊させてもらうことにします。

I am planning to get to Paris tomorrow, but the forecast telling theweather tomorrow would not be good... Tomorrow is Bastille day in France. So it would be good to be there.
