さて、今日はヴァティカン市国へ行ってきます。ヒツジもワシも興奮気味。

I visited Vatican today! Mr. Sheep was very excited too!!

8時のシャトルバスで駅まで行き、電車で最寄の駅まで。8時45分位にヴァテイカン博物館（Musei Vanicani)の入り口近くまで来ましたが、既に行列。ダフ屋ならず、「行列をすっ飛ばそうツアー（Skip the line tour）」に参加しないか?と呼び込みが多い。普通の入館料は15ユーロですがツアーは45ユーロとボッタクリ。

I took the 8am shuttle bus to the train station, and I got to "Musei Vaticani" by 8:45am. However there was a long queue already... There were guys selling "Skip the line tour" which cost 45 Euros when the normal ticket cost 15 Euros.

















もちろん、そんな高いツアーには参加しません。待っている間後ろに並んでいたアルゼンチン人のお姉さん（うーん、おばちゃんかな? 微妙なラインです。）と話して時間をつぶします。

30分くらい待ってようやく入り口へ。

I would not join such an expensive tour of course. While waiting I was chatting with 2 ladies from Argentina behind me. We waited for 30mins or so, then we got into the museum.

















そして中はこんな感じ。セキュリティーを通らなければ行けません。まぁ、「入国審査」ですよね。無事通過し25カ国目ヴァティカン市国へ入国!

Inside the museum was like this. There was tight security check point just like an airport custom. Yes I was going into a contry. I passed trhough without any problem and entered into 25th ountry "Vatican". 


















さて何から見ますかね。なんてウロウロしていたらエジプト美術部に!　これは願ったり叶ったり。全体的にプトレマイオス朝のものが多いですね。

I was wonering where I should visit first and I got to the Ancient Egypitian section! The majority of the collections were from Ptolemaic dynasty period.

そうして彫刻の間へ。色々な彫刻が所狭しと。

Then I went to the section of scalptures. There were many statues and busts everywhere.






















ティベリウス帝の像。

しかーーーーーし、ワシが一番楽しみにしていた「プリマポルタのアウグストゥス像(Augustus of Prima porta)」がある部屋は閉鎖されていて入れない、と。がーーーーーーん!!!!!! アウグストゥス霊廟といい、アウグストゥス帝とは縁が無いのかなぁ。ちなみに、これです。

But, but!!! The room where "Augustus of Prima Porta" was stored was closed!!! I really wanted to see it... o dissappointed... The photo shown is from a website.























気を取り直して見学を続けます。古代ローマ時代の貴婦人たち。髪型がすごいですね。前にテンコ盛り。

Anyway I continued seeing through the scalptures. The ladies of Ancient Rome. Their hair styles were pretty impresive.


















そして、ヴェルヴェディーレの中庭（Cortile Ottagona)にあるラオコーン像。これは有名ですね。人だかりが出来てました。流石に迫力あります。

Then the statue of Laocoon and his sons in Cortile Ottagona. As it is so famous, it was very impresive. Also there were crowds around it.


















右手には毒蛇が巻いてある美人像。これは石棺かな?　蛇の毒でも自殺したのかな?　だとするとクレオパトラみたいですね。

A lying beauty with a serpent on her right arm. I guessed it was a stone coffin. As the serpent on her right arm, she commited a suicide with its poison like Cleopatra??

















まぁ、こんな感じで彫像が並んでいるわけですよ。圧巻です。

There were so  many statues and busts in the rooms.

















あれ、誰の彫像だったかな?。でもカッコいい。

I forgot whose status it was, but he was very cool.

「地図の間」では天井が素晴らしい。

The ceiling of "the room of map" was excellent.

















この絵は見たことがあるような。

I thought I had seen this painting somewhere before...

















そしてラファエッロ（Raffaello）作の「アテネの学堂(The School of Athens)」。これは有名ですね。真ん中の向かって左がプラトンで右がアリストテレスです。階段で青い服をまとって座っているのが「樽の仙人」ディオゲネスですね。

Then the famous "The school of Athens" by Raffaello. In the centre of the painting, the left is Plato and the right is Aristotle. And a man in blue on the stairs is Diogenes of Sinope (the Cynic).

















ロダンの「考える人」。さりげなく置いてありました。

そしてシスティナ礼拝堂（Cappella Sistina)へ。ここは撮影禁止なので写真は無いです。流石巨匠ミケランジェロ渾身の作です、圧巻。

Then I visited "Sistine Chapel (Cappella Sistina)" where is famous for Michelangelo's ceiling paintings. As no photo was allowed, I could not take any photo, but those paintings were truely impressive.

















それからクリスティアン美術の間を通ります。こんな絵がありました。逆カギ十字ハーケンクロイツですか?

Then I walked through "Christian arts" section. There was a paiting like this. Swastika "Hakencruez"??

















これはアキレスに引きずりまわされるへクトルですかね。

I assumed it was a mosaic art of Arhilles and Hector the price of Troy.

















そしてミケランジェロ作の「ピエタ」!!!　いえ、レプリカです。

日本の鎧もありました。薩摩島津家一門の鎧だそうです。

There was a Japanese Samurai armer too. This one belonged to one of family member of Shimazu Clan of Satsuma.























なんだかんだで3時間で見終わりました。もう一回見たいところを周ってもいいのですが、団体観光客にウンザリですし、お腹も空いたので終了。昼はピザ2枚とコーラで5ユーロ。作り置きですがまだ作ったばかりなので美味しかったですよ。安いし。

I spent 3 hours there (it was quicker than I thought. I was thinking to go around again, but I was so hungry and was tired with those tourists in group tours, so I went to have lunch outside. I had a 2 slices of pizza and a can of coke for 5 Euros. It was not a bad deal in this touristic area at all.

そしてサン・ピエトロ大聖堂(Basilica di San Pietro)へ。

Then I went to St. Peter's Basilica.

















これはスゴイです。オベリスクは25㍍の高さがあるそうです。

The obelisk in the middle of Plaza Vatican has the height of 25m!


















大聖堂内に入る為の行列・・・。前にいたアメリカ人父子と歓談してたので時間が早く流れます。結局40分待ちました。

There was a really long queue for entering Basilica... I was chatting with a father and a son from America while waiting. It took me 40mins to get in.

















中に入って先ずはミケランジェロ作「ピエタ」です。本物です。フィレンツェにあった「ピエタ」とは趣が違いますね。これは彼が25歳のときに作品だとか。なんだか清らかですね。

The first thing I went to see inside Basilica was "Pieta" by Michelangelo.This time it was the real one. Unlike another "Pieta" in Firenze, it was more "pure" impression I received. Truely a masterpiece.

















ペテロ像。そうここサン・ピエトロ大聖堂はペテロの墓の上に建てられたのです。

大クーポラ。これもデカイ。

The great dome of Basilica. It was huge.


















流石にカトリックの総本山。豪華絢爛です。

As it is the main Basilica of whole Catholic Church, it was so gorgeous.

















地下には歴代教皇の墓所があります。

In the basement, there was tombs of those popes.

















そして大クーポラに上ります。階段は521段あるそうです。エレベータで201段分登れますが、2ユーロ高いので階段で行きます。201段登ったところ。

I went up to the great dome. There were 521 steps to the top. If I paid 7 Euros, I could use a lift to skip 200 steps, but I chose "on foot" option (5 Euros). The photo shown was taken at 201 steps.

















更に320段登ると、ローマの街が一望できます。

I went up another 321 steps and could see the view of Rome.

これでヴァティカン市国見物終了!!　見ごたえありました。が、3日間テンコ盛りなので流石に疲れました。

I completed exploring Vatcan!! It was a very intereting tour indeed. As I had very busy days for 3 days continuously, so I was very tired too.

帰り道にサンタアンジェロ城（Castel Sant'Angelo)を通って、電車に乗ってキャンプ場に戻りました。

I walked pass Castle of Sant'Angelo, then I caught trains back to the campground.

















洗濯をし、そしてツライけどお別れをしました。

I did some landry and then I had say a good-bye to my dear...

アメリカ合衆国のリノで買ったサングラス。耳にかける部分が折れてしまったので、もう使えません。この間新しいのを道端の露店で購入（15ユーロ）したので、サヨウナラです。今まで一緒に旅を続けてくれて本当にありがとう。

A pair of sunnies I bought in Reno, the USA. The frame was broken and I could not wear them anymore. As I bough a new pair the other day, I had tolet it go. Thank you so much for travelling with me thisfar, my friend!!

















明日はナポリの南ポンペイを目指します。早めに着いたらポンペイの街を散策してもいいですね。ナポリと言えば、ピザです!!

I am heading to Pompei, south of Napoli tomorrow. If I got there early, I would explore the city of Napoli and have a nice pizza!
