Day 433: 2011年10月1日

Sucre (Hostal Pachamama)

DSCF9652.jpgDSCF9653.jpg朝はのんびりと。

Uwe and I wen to Mercado to have lunch and then went to the post office. My package was not there still. The lady told me that International Post would arrive there only on Monday or Tuesday. Why did not other staff ttell me that earlier!!? So I have to wait till tuesday evening for proceeding Plan B.

Then we went back to Mercado to get ingredents for dinner tonight. We chat with a lady selling fruits for a while.

Back to the hostel, I checked the tracking of my package on USPS web page. And finally there was an update! The package arrived in Bolivia. So as the lady @ the post office said, it should be here in Sucre on Monday or Tuesday!

Uwe and I went to Volleyball game with my school, but I forgot where the venue was. So we went to find tyres and other motorcycle parts. As it was Saturday afternoon, all the shop was closed, unfortunately.

On the way back to the hostel, we went to a supermarket. There Uwe asked a girl out. She was planning to go "El Florin" tonight, so we will see her there tonight.

Today I did not do much. I sent an e-mail to Wilbers dealerin Chile to prepare "Plan B".

With Uwe, I visited Jaime to discuss what to do.

We went to the post office to see if my package was there. But it wasn't...

I went to the Spanish Lesson at 3pm. When I cam back to the ostel, Uwe had received a good news from Brasil. His friend had sent the material via UPS. It would take a week to get here.

We went to have a sausage sandwitch @ Chorizeria, a kebab @ Kebab shop and a cup of coffee @ Abis Cafe in the evening. Back to the hostel, we talked with Susie, Eric and 2 Spanish girls till late.

Day 431: 2011年9月29日

Sucre (Hostal Pachamama)

I went to the post office from the morning. I asked the staff if my package would stuck at custom, but she said the package had not been to Boivia yet. It it was, the central office of La Paz would check it in, and it would be shown on the tracking.

I checked with the sender but he had not heard from USPS at all...

I had the Spanish lesson from 12 noon as my teacher Lulu had another appointment in the afternoon. I learnt "Mode conditional simple" today.

After the class, I went to see Jaime @ Motoservi. He said "From the States by USPS, it would take 15 days or so sometimes, so just be paitient!" He had been looking for the material for Uwe, but it was hard to get the material in Bolivia. One option he suggested was he made an order to Buenos Aires and ship the material to the border. The Uwe would take a bus to the border and walk acorss the border to Argentin side, and pick up the material. With this, the shipping cost would be cheaper and it would be less likely the material to be lost.

I went back to the hostel and told Uwe that. He also got a good news, he found a Brazilian guy on the net and he said he would send the material via UPS free of charge! If it would work, he would receive it by the begining of next week!

There was a cooking lesson @ my schoool "Fenix" this afternoon. All students and teachers cooked a local cuisin. I forgot the name of it but it was pretty good. While cooking and eating, we spoke in Spanish, so it was a good practice session as well.

Day 430: 28 SEP 2011

This morning I spent time in the courtyard with Uwe, Susie, Marian and others while having breakfast and coffee. I checked e-mails and tracking info of the shock, but there was no any update. Then Uwe and I went to Mercado to have lunch and to buy stuff for dinner.

Back to the hostel, when I checked e-mails again, there was an e-mail from USPS stating my case was under investigation and I could expect to receive a reply within 2-4days. Uwe also received an e-mail from Brazilstating they might be able to send the material needed. We both made a little progress, I suppose.

I went to the post office to check if the shock was delivered, just in case. Unfortunately, it wasn't there yet.

I went to the Spanish class at 3pm. I learnt Preterito Pluscuamperfecto today.

Back to the hostel, Uwe and I cooked "Uwe'S special soup". The last time he cooked this in Cuenca. As before it was done pretty good. While cooking, we came up an idea to contact a custom to see if my shock stuck there. I will go to the post office again to find out which custom packages from the States

今週末まで届かなければ、プランB(チリ、サンティアゴにWilbersショックを発注)を発動しなければ。

No veia ningun carro unos dias.

Day 429: 27 SEP 2011

Well, my shock is "missing" now. USPS cannot locate its location and I haven't received it. So it is "missing" if not "lost". If I will not receive it by the end of this week, I have to go ahead with "Plan B" (I will make an order of Wilbers Shock to Santiago, Chile.).

Just in case, I went to the Post Office in the morning and asked if the package had arrived. The lady checked but it wasn't there yet. She said "it would be here tomorrow or the day after." Well, thanks for your consolation.

I wanted to drop my clothes to a laundry (usually I wash my clothes in shower, but washiing a pair of trousers in shower would be a hard job). But I forgot where it was. So I had to walk around the city for a while to find one.

With Uwe, I went to have lunch. He was also having a hard time to find a material for welding his frame. We othe were feeling down... Bac to the hostel, we talked with Susie and she said there would be a  free Salsa dance lesson @ "Joy Ride" tonight, so we all would go their this evening.

As usual, at 3pm I went to the Spanish class. Today I wrote the sotry of "Man of Woolworths" in Spanish and showed it to my teacher. What is "Man of Woolworths"?, you would wonder. Well, this is a story of a Japanese boy who walked acorss Ausralia, from Sydney to Perth! If you are interested to read the story, please use Google translator (I posted the story above in Spanish). Google translator will not translate very well, but you should be able to enjoy the story.

With Uwe I went to have kebab for dinner. Back to the hostel, we had a few deinks in the kitchen, then we all went to "Joy Ride" for the Salsa dance lesson.

As I wrote before, I am not good at dancing at all. I don't have rythm! We followed the steps of the lecturer. Everybody except me and Uwe was doing well. It seems like all motorcyclists I know are bad at dancing! When Raul and Karla took us to a Salsa room in Quito, Adam and Mark weren't dancing very well. But I had a good time there.

We came back to the hostel around midnight. Uwe and I talked about history and politics until 1pm or so. Hopefully we will have a good news tomorrow.
