Day57: 2010年9月19日
Reno Day to San Jose
18,611km to 19,065km = 454km
今日は朝早く起きて出来ればヨセミテに寄ってからサンホセ(San Jose)に向かいたかったんですが、起きたのが9時ごろなので諦めてタホ湖(Lake Tahoe)を方面から行く事にしました。
タホ湖はリゾート地になっていて夏のマリンバスポーツ冬のスキーが楽しめます。街もなんだかオシャレです。走りにながらチラチラ見えるタホ湖は綺麗でした。ちょっと車とバイクを停めて湖を眺めていたら、駐車禁止だったので危うく駐禁取り締まりのオバちゃんに切符を切られるところでした。切られたら一台50ドルです。危ない危ない。
ここからサンフランシスコ方面に。何回か渋滞に巻き込まれました。ジュニアがサンホセのアウトレットモールに行きたいと言っているので、サンフランシスコには行かず少し南の街サンホセを目指します。
8時前にモーテルに到着し、チェックインしたら早速トイレに行きました。
朝もモリモリ大量にしたのですが、食べ放題で大量のう○こが溜まってたせいでしょうか、トイレが詰まりました！フロントにスッポンを取りに行ったのですが、スッポンが見つからないので別部屋に変えてもらいました。ラッキー！
夕飯は三馬力さんが米が食べたいとのことなので、韓国焼肉の食べ放題に行きました。店のオバちゃんがドンドン肉を持ってきて、骨付カルビをハサミで切って焼いてくれます。頼みもしないのにドンドン持ってきます。美味いのでドンドン食べますが、流石にオバちゃんにストップをかけました。
ここはジュニアがオゴってくれました。ご馳走さまです！
モーテルに帰ってきてまたモリモリ大量に出ました！一体どんだけ最近たべているのでしょう⁉腹周りが大きくなった気がします。
3時半くらいまで三馬力さんとおしゃべりしてました。明日は買い物に行ってからサンフランシスコに移動します。

Reno Day to San Jose

We were planning to go to Yosemite and go to San Jose, but we got up around 9am. We gave up going to Yosemite and instead we went around Lake Tahoe and headed to San Jose.
Looking Lake Tahoe while riding, it was beautiful. We did a short stop at South Lake Tahoe but here the water wasn't that clean. We parked our vehicles on No Parking area and a Parking Enforcement officer was almost gave us parking fines! Luckily she let us go. It would be $50 fine each vehicle.
Jr. wants to go a big shopping mall in San Jose. That's why we were heading to San Jose instead of San Francisco. We arrived at a motel around 8pm. Straight after check in, I went for a big dump. I had big one this morning already but as I have been eating so much in Buffets, I managed to block the toilet!
I went to the office and asked for a plunger. But they could not find one soon and suggested to change the room. Lucky us!
We went to Korean BBQ for dinner. The lady owner brought us tons of meat and we ate them all! Jr. paid for us! Thanks!
Back to the motel, I had another big one... These 5-6 days, I have been eating too much and already my guts got bigger...
Jr. went to sleep around 1am but Niomi and I was chatting till 3:30am.

Reno Day 4

今日はノンビリです。9時ぐらいに起きてホームセンターや車用品店、バイク屋、キャンプ用品店にいったりしました。ワシはタイヤの空気入れを新調しました。
昼に行ったメキシコ料理屋の山羊汁が美味かったです。
街をうろチョロしていたらビンテージカーのショーがあったので見て回りました。
夕飯はPJ&Coで食べました。安くて美味しいですしバイク好きが集まる店だそうでたのしかったです。
明日はリノとお別れしてサンフランシスコの南サンホセを目指します。
Day56: 2010年9月18日
Reno Day 4

Today we went around Reno. Jr. wanted to go to a home centre, so we went to Lowe's.
We went to a Mexican take Away and Goat soup I had was great!
Then we were looking for a hand tire pump. I have one now but it is really hard to pump up with it, so I'm looking for the one I can put on the ground. After a few bicycle shops, I found the one in a camping store, REI. Here I also bought a bottle of hand wash laundry detergent and a case of a laundry detergent. They are so compact and not expensive at all. I have been washing cloths with a soap in shower and I took time to rinse off soap. Or I bought a packet of detergent for each machine wash. But now I can do laundry easier and cheaper.
Then we found vintage car show in the car park of a shopping centre. There were 1930s, 40s, 50s cars. I am not into American car but Niomi and Jr. were very excited to see around those cars.
We had dinner at PJ&Co, where many motorcyclists gather. Unfortunately, it wasn't the rider's night and the owner, Steve wasn't there. Foods were good and big!
Tomorrow we say Good-bye to Reno and heading to San Jose.

Reno Day 3

昨日も夜遅くまで話しをしていたのですが、朝8時半からのレースを見たかったので7時半に起きて8時には出発しました。
会場まで約30分。今日の入場料は19ドルです。レースを見たり、軍用機の展示を見たり、アクロバットを見たり愉しく時を過ごしました。
FA18 Super Hornetかわマッハで観客席を通り過ぎるのにはなかなか感動させられました。まぁ、岩国でも見れるんですけどね。
極め付けはピットの方で航空機部品のガラクタが売っているんですが、三馬力さんが星型エンジンの親コンロッドを購入したことですね。75ドルのところをワシが50ドルに値切りました。10キロくらい重さがあるんですけど、持って歩いてると注目の的です。イイモノ買いましたね。
あとFormula 1の飛行機は4気筒ボクサーエンジンなのですが、どう見てもフォルクスワーゲンビートルのエンジンに毛が生えた程度のエンジンなんです。105馬力くらいですし。ジュニアは一台ボロビートルを持っているので、それで飛行機を自作するという計画が出来ました。楽しみだなぁ。
夜はまたカジノの食べ放題に行きました。今回のはシーフードディナーなので20ドルでした。カニもあって豪勢です。また食べ過ぎちゃいました。カジノでは20ドル負けてしまいました…。でもカジノでトランプの手品をしているおっちゃんはスゴかった！あれを見れただけでも20ドルの価値はありますね。
明日は飛行機レースには行かず街をブラブラする程度でゆっくり過ごします。

Reno Day 3

We got up at 7:30am to see the race stats from 8:30am (Formula 1).
The entree fee was $19 today as it's Friday. There were more than twice as many people to see the races today.
We saw a few races and then were looking around the US Air force exhibition. There were F15, F16, big carriers and so on.
Acrobatic flights were great. I was surprised the maneuver of propeller planes. They seemed like defying the law of gravity. FA18 Super Hornet went through in front of the main stand at Mach 1! It was a quite experience. The Canadian Acrobatic team "Snow Birds" was great as well.
The mist interesting thing today was Niomi bought a master con rod of airplane engine. It was $75 but we got it at $50. It weighs around 10kg. We drew people's attention walking with the big and heavy con rod.
Also we found out the engine of Formula 1 plane is a 4 cylinder boxer engine. It has only 105 horse power and looks just like the engine if VW Beatle. KamaG Jr. has one Beatle at home, so we made a plan to make a plane using the Beatle engine! It's gonna be fun!
We went to another Casino and had dinner at Buffet. I lost $20 in casino!
Tomorrow we will look around the city of Reno.

Reno Day 2

今日は昨日遅くまでお喋りをしていたので朝は遅くなりました。マックで朝飯を食べて飛行機レースの会場に向かいます。会場はリノ北外れの空港です。
おー、やってますね。場外駐車場に車を停めて会場へ。入場料は13ドルです。沢山の飛行機が展示してあります。三馬力さんもジュニアもワシもヒツジも、P51やF4U コルセア(Cosair)などの大戦で日本の戦闘機と対峙した戦闘機もあり興奮！レースにもこれらの戦闘機、プロペラ機やジェット機が色んなカテゴリーに分かれて出ますし、アクロバット飛行機もあり、愉しい！13ドルは安いです。ワシらは特にレシプロ機に興味があるのでしっかりと見て回りました。
食べ物や飲み物は例の如く観光地・イベントのボッタクリ価格ですが、航空関係や軍物の小物とかも売っていて見て回るだけでも愉しいです。
4時くらいに今日の最終レース(まだ予選ですが)終わりしばらく出店を見て回っていたのですが、ピットの方に入れるのがわかり行って見ました。レースに参加している飛行機が真近にみれます。しかも飛行機のコックピットに座らしてもらいました！ヒツジも大興奮！
6時過ぎまでピットを見て回ってエルドラド(Eldorado)というカジノホテルで食べ放題の夕飯を食べました。1人14ドルで色々あるし美味しかったです。調子に乗って食べ過ぎました。カジノで10ドルだけかけて見事に負けました。
モーテルに帰りGPSに三馬力さんが持って来たマップをいれましたが悪戦苦闘。世界の大まかな地図は入ったのですが、リノ周辺の細かい地図が出てきません。明日また挑戦してみます。
明日も飛行機レースをみにいます。
Day54: 2010年9月16日
Reno Day 2

We slept in this morning. Had breakfast at MacDonald's and we went to Stead Airport where the air races taking place.
There weren't so many people, so we could find a car park easily. The races were already on! The entrance fee was $13pp.
Inside the airport, there were so many airplanes displayed. P51 and F4U Corsair, WWII fighters were there too. We got so excited.
In the races, there are several categories of propeller planes and jet planes. Even WWII fighters were in the races.
The last event if the day was around 4pm. We were walking around stoles and checking memorabilia. Then we found out we can go into the pit section. There we could see the racing planes and we could hop on to one of the planes! We were so happy to be in the cockpit!
We stayed in the pit till 6pm and went to Eldorado Casino for Buffet dinner. It was $14pp and great selections. I ate too much.
Back to the motel, I was uploading maps to my GPS but it did not work well. I could put the world map but detailed maps for regions were not reflected. I will try it again tomorrow.

We slept in this morning. Had breakfast at MacDonald's and we went to Stead Airport where the air races taking place.
There weren't so many people, so we could find a car park easily. The races were already on! The entrance fee was $13pp.
Inside the airport, there were so many airplanes displayed. P51 and F4U Corsair, WWII fighters were there too. We got so excited.
In the races, there are several categories of propeller planes and jet planes. Even WWII fighters were in the races.
The last event if the day was around 4pm. We were walking around stoles and checking memorabilia. Then we found out we can go into the pit section. There we could see the racing planes and we could hop on to one of the planes! We were so happy to be in the cockpit!
We stayed in the pit till 6pm and went to Eldorado Casino for Buffet dinner. It was $14pp and great selections. I ate too much.
Back to the motel, I was uploading maps to my GPS but it did not work well. I could put the world map but detailed maps for regions were not reflected. I will try it again tomorrow.

Yosemite Nat'l Park to Reno

昨晩も熊が来たらしいのですが、気配だけ感じてそのまま寝てました。
8時に起きて出発の準備です。ブライアンは8時半には準備が整い三たびの再会を誓って別れました。メキシコで会おう！
キャンプ場で知り合った人と話していたら10時ごろになってしまいました。エリックも準備が出来たので再会を違い別々の道へ。
ヨセミテから先ずは東へ。395号で進路を北に取ります。モノレイク(Mono Lake)は中々の景色です。ネバダ州が近づくにつれ気温が上がっていきます。
ネバダ州に入るとガソリンがいきなり安くなります。やっぱりカリフォルニアは税金が高いんですね。
ネバダ州の州都カーソンシティー(Carson City)手前のGardnervilleのマックで三馬力さんからのメールをゲット。無事にサンフランシスコに着いたみたいです。まだ宿を取ってないので、ワシがリノに先に着くので抑えることに。
5時ごろにリノに到着し、モーテルを探します。3人で一泊45ドルというのがあったのでそこにしました。
荷物を置いたら早速シャワーを浴びます。5日ぶりのシャワーです。気持ちイイ！
ネットをしながら三馬力さんたちの到着を待ちます。8時過ぎに到着。異国の地での再会はなんだか不思議ですね。お連れさんはかまじいさんの息子さんです。早速中華の食べ放題にいきました。
モーテルに戻ります色々話していたらもう1時半。もう寝ましょう。

Last night a bear was crawling around our tents again. I felt the bear was near by but I did not get up and was half sleeping.
I got up at 8am and started to puck up. Brian was ready by 8:30am, and we said Good-bye. We will see each other again in Mexico.
As I was talking to other people at the camp site, it became 10am. Eric was also ready to go, so we said Good-bye and took off to other ways. I'm sure we will meet again.
I exited the perk from East side and took the route 395 to North. Mono Lake is worth to stop to see. It is quite beautiful.
The closer I got to Nevada, it got hotter. Once I crossed the boarder, gas price drops. I guess California puts higher tax on gas.
At Gardnerville, I got an e-mail from my old friend Niomi. He arrived at San Francisco and heading to Reno. He and his friend are coming to Reno for the Air Races.
I arrived Reno at 5pm. I found a Motel costs $45 for 3 people a night. After put away my baggages, I took shower. It was so good as I hadn't taken shower for 5days.
Niomi and his friend arrived at 8pm. We went to a Chinese buffet for dinner.
We were chatting till 1:30am! It's time to go to sleep.

I exited the perk from East side and took the route 395 to North. Mono Lake is worth to stop to see. It is quite beautiful.
The closer I got to Nevada, it got hotter. Once I crossed the boarder, gas price drops. I guess California puts higher tax on gas.
At Gardnerville, I got an e-mail from my old friend Niomi. He arrived at San Francisco and heading to Reno. He and his friend are coming to Reno for the Air Races.
I arrived Reno at 5pm. I found a Motel costs $45 for 3 people a night. After put away my baggages, I took shower. It was so good as I hadn't taken shower for 5days.
Niomi and his friend arrived at 8pm. We went to a Chinese buffet for dinner.
We were chatting till 1:30am! It's time to go to sleep.

オーストラリアに移住して16年。遠く南の大陸から母国日本を眺めてみて危機感を感じてはや16年。なにか出来ないものかと考えて考えて、ようやく自分で行動することに数年前に思い当たる。とりあえず自分が出来ることから始めよう！ってことで、革命軍M-26-Julioをシドニーで結成。
